I can't believe a thread like this doesn't exist. Or perhaps one did, and is lost in the mists of time............
Talk about a movie you've seen recently or want to see.

I'll start. We rented "BlackkKlansman" saturday night. Interesting premise. 95% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
How the Hell did this movie get 95% on rotten tomatoes?!? It was ok, had some funny scenes, and Adam Driver was really good. But between plot holes and preaching (how long did the Kwame Ture speech go on?) it lost a lot.
On the RD movie scale (1 to 10, 10 being best) I'd give it a 4 or 5.

Looking forward to seeing:

The Mule - may go see it this weekend.
The Girl in the Spiders Web - Opted to see Overlord instead which I enjoyed. We'll watch Spider Web movie at home with dinner
Bird Box
White Boy Rick

Recently watched and enjoyed:

Ghostland - thoroughly enjoyed this movie
Bad Times at the El Royale
Mile 22

There are others, I'll have to ponder I watch so many, it's hard to remember them all or keep them straight.

If you like crazy ass horror/suspenseful thrillers, Incident in a Ghostland is a fantastic watch. Lots of H.P. Lovecraft references. It did not get great reviews but I could care less. I'm a huge horror movie fan and this is one of my favorites.

Bad Times at the El Royale I greatly enjoyed. It is suspenseful and done in a very Tarantino-ish style. I will have this one in my personal collection.

Lovecraft! I almost bought a commemorative collection of the Necronimicon Friday.

That's awesome! I've only recently (in the past few years) become a fan of his works and haven't really delved into the deep waters yet. Anyone who had anything negative to say about this film must have just expected something completely different. Trying really hard not to say anything about it as not to ruin it. I will say look up the back story of the actual events that transpired while filming. One of the actresses sued over personal injury which will likely prevent her from future roles as she is not permanently scared on her face. Cool side note, they actually kept and used the scene in the film where she was injured.

Still my favorite (H.P.) is "The Dream Quest of unknown Kadath"

confession: I once assisted in scratching HPL into the back of a new, raised mausoleum

I am greatly anticipating seeing "They shall not grow old", "The Mule", "Holmes & Watson", maybe "Destroyer" and "Stan & Ollie".

Are there any good action movies coming out soon?

So what's the consensus on Mortal Engines?
12-17-2018
Another recent movie I watched was "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs".

Spoiler alert line_________________________

I liked the opening, up until Buster was shot, and the singing started. Then I remembered why I hate Coen movies.
RD score 2 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I hated O Brother, but then again I was in my teens last time I watched it. Maybe I'll give it another try now that I'm closer to 30.

I'm going to be checking out Bad times at El Royal this weekend

I'm considering rounding up all those family members under 25 and making them watch Mary Poppins with me.

Lol oh no, I thought you meant the original Mary Poppins. I didn't even know there was a remake.

I was just thinking of starting this thread yesterday but ended up going to the gym and forgot. Agreed that there should just be one thread on the topic vs hundreds. Going to see Spider-Verse tonight.

I actually did like that one. It was a take off of "The Odyssey" I believe.
The funniest part was towards the end when Turtorro says he broke out of jail a week before he was supposed to be released because he wanted part of Clooneys treasure (and there was no treasure). And the "Soggy Bottom Boys".

It looks retarded and shouldn't be watched
