Hi, I'm wondering where I can buy the carbon fiber interior trim for my x5 m50i. It's only available on x6 as an option though...I believe the upcoming x5 m should have it as an option..

wondering about this as well

Yea... the X6 has available Carbon interior trim, available red leather interior, and the available illuminated grill. None of those are available on the X5.

.... which is horsepucky.

But... the X6 is ugly.... so, it makes sense they'd have to offer it with more "bling" to compensate.... LOL :)

Seriously though, theoretically, the carbon interior trim "should" be the same for the X6 as it is for the X5, right??

yes, the interior is identical in the areas it matters

Thread resurrection!
I see that Carbon Fibre interior trim is available from some of the vendors on this site. Does anyone know what would be involved in switching out the existing trim?

I was looking at some parts and for example (it seems) the piece that runs from the iDrive screen all the way to and including the passenger vent is one piece. The light rods are embedded in them, so it's big chunks at a time of the car -- but maybe that makes it easier. The area around the central control (ie shifter) comes out along with the upholstery surrounding it in a pretty big piece. The control unit itself comes out, then you can separate out the upholstery pieces from the existing trim & light bars.

It doesn't seem "that bad", if you have interior trim tools and some micro fiber clothes to protect stuff. I would worry most about accidentally yanking something and destroying a ribbon connector somewhere.

I don't know about the US, but I just changed my X5 M50d order to include the Carbon Fiber factory trim. Looking at September delivery. 400 Euro premium over the Piano Black trim.

Back from the grave! Just placed an order for CF trim kit from JC sportline. I really wanted CF trim in my X5 but it was the only one on the lot and had nearly everything (no air suspension) I wanted. Very am grateful to have been able to purchase a vehicle at this price point. Anywho, I've been searching for CF trim kits or parts online but no luck. Never seen anyone with this kit and I assume because overlay products for interior trims are typically a disappointment, don't fit perfectly, or look cheap. This kit retails for more than $750 but I negotiated a better price since I've offered to make a vid on their product once it arrives. Will post here for folks too. Yes, it's from China but I'm willing to give it a try. Pictures looked good enough :confused2:lol: Should arrive in late January:lol:

Thanks! I’ve called the dealer but they didn’t have CF trim part numbers for the X5 a couple months ago.

How do these pop off? Are they clips or do you have to remove the whole dash?

The kit I purchased is simply placed on top of the Oem trim. I just noticed that for these G05s the oem trim isn’t flush with all surfaces so this might actually work! Run your fingers around the gear box/button area or upper dash vent area.

Awesome. Would love to see it once it’s installed.

I'm interested in the fit and finish of this, please post some close up photos and your review of what it looks like.

Edit: Just seen the pics in your other thread.

I’m very content with the purchase. Installation was easy and because the trim flexes (given how thin it is), it was easy to gently lift it and re-align it to a position I wanted. It was worth the buy and admit I took a huge gamble on it when buying from abroad. Emails with the seller were appeared somewhat sketch (English not their first language) but the product came as promised and well packaged.

would you mind posting closeup of the trim
I guess the question is how noticeable it is considering it is tapes on and not a replacement of previous trim

devil would be in the details ... shots ;)

How easy was it to take out old trims before installing the new

A corner here and there but it is largely spot on. I totally feel like I’m a different car now (only because my 40i has the same trim lol).

Can you we get an update on how the quality of that product is holding up?
