Took the "dive" and purchased my first Panerai today, and I couldn't be happier! Had an appointment with my AD this morning to see the watch in person (after a temperature check and putting on gloves and a mask at the door of course)

I have to say, in person this piece is a LOOKER! The size is perfect for me (I'm not very tall, but I'm not super skinny either...) and the color of the grey textured dial and matte blue bezel (which really does change color in different lighting) is stunning.

Attached are some "unboxing" photos, pics of the watch "in the wild", a couple of photos of the watch on the additional diving strap, and a cool hat I also left the AD with!

For all of you BMW and Panerai fans... carry on your discussions here!

That looks really good on your wrist. Is yours considered a CUSHION case ?

Saw the new Pan 1117, 1118 and 1119. Their stuff is so good looking.

Thank you! And yes, I think it is technically a cushion case (square-ish case with the edges rounded off)

Really loving the 42mm size and the colors on this watch!

Nice model, blue and grey are one of my fave color combinations as well .
I like its tool kit too , the box is not ridiculously sized at all

Thank you! And yes, the presentation is quite nice. Apparently Panerai is also moving towards more eco-friendly packaging.

Awesome looking watch.
I just wish they made it in 44 or 45mm.

Thank you!

And it seems that quite a few people are saying that. I guess Panerai thought 42mm was the "happy medium" between anything under 40mm and the company's usual 47mm pieces.

I personally think the 42mm fits perfectly on my wrist, but if the piece was 44mm instead, it would probably fit equally as well. I do think 47mm is a bit large for me. My wrist isn't small, and I'm not skinny, but I'm also not tall, so I feel it I would look obnoxious wearing anything much larger :o

That was my perception as well! I never loved the Panerai look... but I fell in love with the Submersible!

And I'll be honest, having one has made me appreciate the brand more and more. I've found myself browsing and coveting models I would have looked over in the past.

For example, this new Luminor Marina release:

That's a great piece! I saw one in person at the Panerai boutique. Might be a biiiit too large for me, though haha
