Would be nice to have a thread of wrapped X5 and X6's.

This isnt mine but thought its a nice one. I just ordered an x6m competition and am thinking to wrap it.

They could have made rear tails come out a bit easier..

hybrid_eg. Im following your Xpel stealth wrap closely. I have a DG X6M on order and plan to do the Xpel stealth as well. Looking fwd to seeing your car and following the progress.

I've got mine in the shop getting stealth Xpel as well. My front lip and spoiler are on order, which I'm hoping will arrive soon to get installed/wrapped while the car's there.

Thanks, I also removed my rear spoiler so that we can do single piece on top portion of trunk without having to make seam line anywhere..

I also did it because eventually ill get mperf spoiler which ill use double side tape to install and no issues if I ever want to remove it or replace with something else..

removing stock spoiler is easy, simple fish line action but getting rid of beta link is another story.. factor in 2 hrs of finger tip rub action and you will need some 3m adhesive remover.. worth the extra effort

also bmw could have made rear tails to come out easier without taking entire rear trunk apart.. all the stuff comes off very easy btw as they have improved push clips form what Ive seen on previous years.

Lastly, passenger side rear tail is pain to remove. One 10mm nut is blocked by the fuse box, you will need to unclip the fuse box by snapping in the clips and trim little bit of fuse box plastic frame so you can reach with 10mm socket (make sure you are using magnetic deep socket) if you drop that nut you're fuc%ed!

You are not the only one.

I'm another F96 donington grey customer here and mine should arrived in the next 2 weeks or so.

I'm currently not considering any protection even though it's owned. I had it on my previous G06 and I concluded that the price tag for this was not justified (in my opinion).

But I love hybrid_eg's user avatarhybrid_eg pictures and am fascinated to see these pictures. Please keep them coming!

Thanks for kind words.. I put xpel not just for protection but also ease of maintenance when it comes to washing etc.. especially with stealth this is a breeze! Color wise I really wanted to go individual but instead id rather spend that price tag to have a car full wrapped in xpel looking as good as OEM frozen paint but fully protected :) So in my eyes it was a no brainer..

Should be done in the next couple days..

And btw if anyone in Socal is looking for the most meticulous PPF mobile guy PM for info.. he has been doing my cars for years and does an amazing job!

Great picture as I think I can see the difference between the doors (with the film on) the the back side of the car without the film.

I think you are actually convincing me :confused2:

i never saw frozen paint until i after i got my car and joined this forum. i love the look! my detailer told me he was in the process of applying Xpel stealth on an Audi RS7 (first ever delivery in Virginia) and invited me to take a closer look at it, which confirmed that i wanted it. with this wrap and a few other mods, i'll get that one-off look in addition to protection :)

Thought I would share some pics of my new G05 wrapped in Xpel Stealth wrap.

Full Sun
Cloudy
Night-time

Sadly with 20" OEM non staggered!

Other cosmetic mods:
- Blackout trunk lid badges
- OEM grille - gloss black with M stripes applied with wrap (from silver)
- Ceramic tint 35% front side windows
- Ceramic Pro applied on wrap and full wheels and calipers
- plasti-dipped exhaust tips (from silver)
- Body color middle strip between front kidney grille
- Body color front orange reflector delete
- Body color rear red reflector delete (subsequently removed and tinted red instead)

Makes the G05 and a real head turner!

PM me if you're interested in the name of the shop in Toronto, Ontario - they do amazing work and I'm a perfectionist and quality is everything to me - like most of us!

Enjoy.

pristine! and it'll look that way longer than without the wrap/protection.

nothing wrong with 20" square ;) i converted from OEM 21" staggered to an aftermarket 20" square setup. still looks great (especially with air suspension) with easier maintenance (rotation, tire selection...)
