Lady Jane wroteMale on the left.
Lady Jane wroteMale on the right. $5 says the female stated that she wasn't even hungry 5 minutes before this photo was taken.
King Rudi wroteThis was how I read the picture: the one on the left is annoying and the one on the right is hesitant to provide a hard response.Lady Jane wroteThese are Rose-ringed parakeets from Kaudulla national park. The male is on the right. Oddly the females of the Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata, and Class Aves display duller color pallets, while the males tend to be more attractive and brightly colored. This is of course to attract the lack luster females.I'm not an ornithologist but I can always tell the female of the species.
Just thought I'd share.

Regarding colourways, females don't need to look attractive when in high demand but they do need a protective look every time, I guess. Also, it might be the male's responsibility to divert predators from the nest.
King Rudi wroteIt's irrelevant if she's hungry or not. He must bring food anyway.$5 says the female stated that she wasn't even hungry 5 minutes before this photo was taken.
No one wroteI assumed that Jane was referencing the "talk to the hand" pose of the winged-rat on the right, insinuating that this was the female (on the right) being tired of the males shit. I might be wrong. If I am, then the male is on the left. This was how I read the picture: the one on the left is annoying and the one on the right is hesitant to provide a hard response.

Also see post in Confess Here. I seriously know shit about birds, but I can google the hell out of anything.
Also if the females don't need to look attractive just because they are in high demand, I guess this explains blue hair, neck/face tattoos and wearing pajama pants/house shoes combo in public of modern day single ladies. I didn't realize how our closely related our species courtly love structure was.
No one wroteI don't have a solid rebuttal for this. You are correct. Regardless of how not hungry the female is, she will still eat the males food, and the male should be pleased to supply said nourishment....although he will now go without because she wasn't hungry. It's irrelevant if she's hungry or not. He must bring food anyway.

Our species and theirs do share many similarities.
I'm just being a dick as 90% of her posts are verbally degrading of men in a feeble attempt at flirting.
Up next, Jane explains how our societal mating rituals should mirror that of the Preying Mantis.

King Rudi wroteI don't know if explicitly ugly women can be in demand (they might be according to the dedicated neighbouring thread). Also if the females don't need to look attractive just because they are in high demand, I guess this explains blue hair, neck/face tattoos and wearing pajama pants/house shoes combo in public of modern day single ladies. I would guess they are simply desperate.
There should be "a bit" more of common sense in the animal world.
No one wroteAccording to them they are in very high demand. What?

...but that's where you messed up, should've heeded the saying "once bitten, twice shy".
Esteban wroteYes, I'm very familiar w those cute marsupials, I know they sound like a broken carburetor sometimes lol. However, they also make a cute screeching noise when calling out for their moms. Nothing will sway me from being enamoured forever w them!Have you heard their mating call?
