On the conversation, I found a really bad error in the system today. (It was a Mercedes-Benz dealer on the east coast, everyone calm down ;) ). One digit off, I'm sure the customer thought they received the deal of a lifetime, but the dealer put the vehicle starting mileage as 7,300 and not 73,000...

I informed the customer about the mistake I found, and suggested they should work with the dealer in correcting the error while maintaining coverage, or have their money refunded because there is no way the current contract is enforceable.

Hey just curious did you end up buying the 10/100 Fidelity from Cody? I just got my X5 and am gonna reach out to the contacts in this thread. Seems like Cody has the best pricing so assuming I hear back from him I will just go through with it but just want to know it's legit!

That last sentence though - even if you're under 50K miles, the factory warranty would still expire after 4 years ...
OklaBimmerN00B's user avatarOklaBimmerN00B Sorry for the late reply! (I'll have to catch up on this thread; did you end up getting the 10/100 VSC?).

I purchased mine in February and it was a very smooth & easy process. As others have said, just be sure all the info on your Contract is correct, and be sure to read it in full; that way you're good with what's covered and all of that! -- Once you do get it, you can sign up for an account at Road Ready Hub. It'll have some of the basic info for your Fidelity VSC there to help verify it and stuff for extra peace of mind!

LMK what you ended up doing; curious if you got it.

You should give Safe-Guard a call to verify your coverage. Unless you have extremely low mileage on your X5 it wouldn't have been eligible for more BMW VSC coverage from what we have seen.
I didn't get around to calling Safe-Guard but my coverage plan shows up as being effective in BMW systems, per local dealer service Mgr.

Yes, a lot of providers have "customer portals" with everything that is listed on the coverage sheet (first page of the contract), as well. I tell all of my customers to keep the first page in the glove box of the vehicle, that way if the vehicle is in the service department, so is warranty information for repairs to be submitted and paid.

Just to add to this, the Bmw VSc and the Fidelity Plan have nothing to do with each other as there completely separate entities. I'm not sure what Bmw then may have to do with anything if your going with the longer term Fidelity Platinum plan(Unless I misunderstood what you wrote?). The Fidel Plat plan looks great if you need 10 or 11(6-7 additional) years at a very good price through Cody.

So, just check your paper work and make sure mileage, etc is accurate as all of us should be doing that no matter what. I had no issues with my paperwork as have many others and easily received the best price from Cody. Very happy to have purchase my warranty from him as it saved me a very good amount of $$$.
Who did you buy it from?

I believe I mentioned in the post you referenced I bought mine from Cody Bowman. He had the lowest price out of any of the other listed dealers on the forum for both the Bmw VSC & if you need to go for a longer duration he also sells the 3rd party Fidelity Platinum Plan.

Very easy transaction & he was very responsive, great price, etc.
You can email him for a quote: cody.bowman@galleriabmw.com

Has anyone used a broker for discounts on lease deals, or is the opportunity for savings mostly off the MSRP on a individual's purchase? My fiancée is tentatively starting to shop for a vehicle, but she hardly drives, so I'm thinking a lease may make sense for her. (Her 2008 has 44K miles on it)

Yes, they do leases (may actually be the majority of their business) and the discounts should be the same as purchases. The incentives of course will vary.

As far as her situation goes, whether to lease or buy really is going to come down to how long she would like to keep the vehicle. If she would like to get a new one every three years then leasing would make sense. If she is going to hold onto it long term, like she is with you, then purchasing would be the way to go.

No, but I'm sure she will scrutinize the return policy very carefully before committing.:lol::thumbsup:

Another shout out to CODY @ Galeria BMW

I emailed my local dealer where we purchased our 2022 BMW X5 45e from and got no reply for over a week and had to send another email. I also emailed my other dealer I got my i4 M50 from and also nothing.

Ended up purchasing an extra 4 yrs/48,000m ($100 deductible) for $2850 which I think is a VERY good price for the extra 4 years on this vehicle as fully loaded and PHEV so lots to go wrong! (although nothing yet in 1st 4 years except leather drivers seat)

Cody Bowman is the way to go as I found nobody beats his pricing on the bmw VSC! Good to hear you got a great deal on your plan!:cool!:

Does timing matter on pricing for extended warranties? 2026 M60i and I’m wondering if it’s better to purchase extended warranty for 4 years now or in the next 6 months, or wait until the 4 year factory warranty is almost up.

The price goes up as the age and mileage goes up. Some recommend to buy it early because of that. Others recommend waiting until right before the new vehicle warranty expires. Most recommend to not buy one. ;)

Yeah I’m usually one in the latter camp. I typically don’t buy additional warranties on any products. I’m still unsure how long I will keep the car but estimating 5-6 years but I’m loving it so far so I could see myself keeping it longer. Only time will tell. A little concerned about the transfer case and diff issues that seem to pop up post factory warranty. But now that I think of it, I believe BMW changed the maintenance schedule to do service around 20k miles or so (it might be 30k). There isn’t a lot of higher mileage m60i’s, so time will tell if there are any major issues to look out for. Especially with the S68 engine.

Correct, the cost of coverage increases as the exposure of risk increases by the coverage provider, i.e reduction in factory or CPO coverage on the vehicle and an increase in mileage or age. My contact information is below if you'd like to explore coverage options, I will be able to show you how your total coverage extension looks now with your current factory warranty remaining, vs. without it.

Talk to you soon!

It's dirt cheap if you buy it now. I bought it for my 2026 m60 a few weeks after delivery and it was only around $2,400 through Cody Bowman. You can wait of course but the more miles and as the car ages it will cost much more later on. Plus it's not getting any cheaper in the future to repair these things so expect price increases as well on these plans by bmw, etc. Of course, do what's best for your own financial priorities & when/if to buy it.
