I believe there is an OEM burble tune correct?

Reviving this. Has anyone done this recently?

Certainly hope not šŸ˜

Hello guys, issue is on MY 2020 (F95) models up to 2020 November/December. All others models after that have no issues , i uploaded on my youtube channel an example for F95 2021 - including a video from inside car (0 errors ) .

I’ve just had mine done by binmerworks, thought I’d try it. No issues in relation to the burble sounds.

However, he did also ā€˜disable’ the OPF, and when I pull hard on the throttle the Drivetrain error popped up, less power mode kicked in.

He immediately wiped the error and said I need to remove the OPF filters and there will be no issues. I’ve spoken to my exhaust guy, who thinks removing the OPF’s will just cause faults to ping up on the dash.

Thinking of revering to stock.

I have a UK 2021 X5MC.

If he coded out the OPF you won’t have any faults… that’s the first mod I did when I got my car… it will increase the exhaust sound ~30%

Thanks. But if the has an software update or service will the coding revert to stock? And then the faults pop up?

Did yours also have the drivetrain fault pop up?

My car is tuned hence the same does not apply… but correct, the software update will wipe any existing coding. I don’t do software updates since tuned my car

But still I don’t understand how OPF is related to drivetrain fault… my story was different, I’ve removed the OPF’s without coding and it caused the CEL to pop up

Just had this tune done by bimmerworks remotely. All worked well. After the process, Cold start almost scared the crap out of me. Burbles on efficient mode, pops on sport and sport plus! Love it. No error code. 2022 model. Secondary cats deleted with full cat back exhaust

When you say pops are those the gunshot sounding pops ?

I haven’t had a chance to take it out on the street. But during the short rev testing on sport plus with valves opened fully (external controlled), yes I heard deep burbles followed by pahpahpah…

Had few members asked me details the cars that can be done are after 2020 07 all before and until 2020 07 have a false DTC message Battery Discharge warning.

I had this done and I absolutely love it. Wish I had done it sooner. I thought it was going to be a bit too much/too obnoxious for my liking but I find the sound to be perfect. Was told that it would also provide a bit better aggressiveness on acceleration and that indeed is the case.

My setup is a 2022 with a Dinan catback and stock downpipes. Burbles only in Sport+ mode and cold starts sound the same (I did not want a louder cold start, plus I have the Dinan valve controller to close the flaps).

Do you have pops/gunshots while driving changing gears etc or just when you are standing without moving.

Sounds (pops, bangs, burbles) can be heard while driving especially on deceleration.

on latest models with i-drive 8 cannot be done

Does anybody know if you can get the burbles only ? And make sure there's no gunshot pops ?

95% is burbles only. Only on m2 and under a sudden acceleration you will hear the pop. Not so bad I’d say.

I agree with this. I pretty much refer to it as a burbles tune. I have not gotten the ā€œgun popā€ sound, but that may be because I am running stock downpipes.

Prior to getting this tune I was strongly considering catless secondaries but that is no longer the plan as I thoroughly enjoy the sound as is.
