After spending more time with the tune, I’ve decided to stick with it and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. The burbles and crackles completely transform the driving experience, making the car sound like it should have from the factory.
Aside from the remote start issue, I haven’t experienced any other problems or concerns. Everything else functions as it should, and the car drives flawlessly. While losing remote start is a bit of an inconvenience in the winter, the overall enjoyment I get from the tune far outweighs that drawback.
For anyone with an F95/F96 looking to add some extra character to their exhaust without tuning or unlocking the ECU, I highly recommend this. It’s one of the best mods I’ve done to the car.
Hope this helps anyone considering it.

Check and see if your secondary battery is good. I had remote start errors and they ended up reprogramming the car and replacing battery. I did lose the burbles and id have to repay to get them flashed again. Of note I had the remote start errors before I got the burble installed.

Just got the burbles done by Bimmerworks. Honestly improves the sound a lot (can send videos if anyone wants). No issues at all except remote start doesn’t work through key (I have a 2023 f95) and would recommend if anyone wants that f90 sound on the x5m.

Anyone else have this successfully coded without any errors or losing remote start? Not sure I’m willing to give up remote features for some sounds, especially come winter when I’ll have the windows up and enjoy getting into a warm car.
I have a MY21 X5MC. Mdecoder says I have a production date of 2020-09-17. ISTA says I have a production date of 01/07/2020 (this must be July 01?). Not sure what the difference is in these dates seeing as they are both “production dates”. I think this means I might be in the range for this to work? If not, I think this would definitely mean that my DME is locked, so a tune would be more complicated and costly.
Looks like account offering this is banned now?

Interesting.

Technically all DME's are locked. The ones before 06/2020 production can be bench unlocked. If you have a 2021 model year, your DME is 100% going to need a Femto unlock for tuning. There were features added to the 2021 model year that required the new DME such as phone as a key.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought there was a chance based on the DME production date that some 2021s could get lucky and not need a femto unlock, just a standard bench unlock. I didn’t know know if any MY21s existed with a production date in 2020 and may have had the earlier DME. Makes sense they wouldn’t if they required the updated DME for the new features on the MY21s.
Either way I assumed based on the production dates I was seeing for my MY21 that I would need the femto unlock. I was going to look at my DME production date in ISTA next time I had it fired up just for kicks, but ultimately I have no burning desire to tune my car (especially if it requires femto). Pretty happy with everything as-is. The OEM burble that was discussed here peaked my interest as an alternative to play around and see if I like the change. Based on everything I’m seeing it seems like I’d be giving up more than I’d gain. I was just hoping for a clean error-free solution.

ISTA is certainly one way to determine the exact date. You can also find out if you download the Bootmod3 app and connect to your car. You don't need a license to read the current versions.

Thank you. I had downloaded MHD on my iPhone intending to check using the check unlock status feature, but then realized I’d need an adapter that I didn’t have (my bluetooth adapters aren’t supported and I don’t have a lightning to Ethernet adapter). I decided to give up knowing mine would definitely require femto unlock. After seeing your post and looking at the BM3 instructions it’s nice to know I can do the same unlock check and use my laptop and ENET cable. Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge here.

For anyone interested like I was, this is not available for F95 LCI.

Hi, mind sharing the CAFD files so we can get this figured out? Everyone is gatekeeping this thing

This Ukrainian guy does the same for 300$
He says it's OEM M performance firmware. Backdating 95% because he mentioned that, in any case, we can just update the car firmware from the MyBMW app.
Any new information or takes on this thing idea? I am very tempted and always like little burbles. My knowledge is humble about it, and I definitely want to understand more for the future.

Wait, so the guy who was doing it is now banned? What happened?

Trying to revive this, has anybody else gotten this done and had no sort of faults?
Have something to add?
