Which module needs to be coded? Also, the build sheet must need to change. I am in the US. If I pay a BMW dealer to do it, do they have the ability to? Thanks.
For the thermoelectric cupholders, in the lci its just the bcp that needs to be coded. In a pfl its bdc

I just spoke with my coder and that is one thing that he is able to code because it’s a VO option. I’m very excited. Now, I have to figure out what parts I need to buy.

Lci is almost the same, the difference is there is no 58g wire from 12v socket and k-lin has an other pin number. So you have
slot 1 + 12V
slot 2 empty
slot 3 - 12v
slot 4 k-lin to bcp A528*4B pin 24
slot 5 - connect to slot 3
slot 6 Fuse front fuseholder slot 10 FUSE 50
If I installed it this way, would coding be required?

If you add a new option it always needs to be vo coded.

The dealer wouldn't code anything besides what is present in your factory VO, sans official retrofit kits (which I'm not even sure there are any on the G05 platform).

Does the storage compartment come with the sliding lid, or do you swap yours over to the new part? Thanks!!

With a tremendous amount of time and support from Deneyer, I just completed the installation of the heated/cooled cupholders on my 26 X5M60i. Deneyer spent a lot of time with me helping me but I spent the last two days completing this task. You do not need to take out the center console. If ANYONE needs help with their LCI, I would be more than happy to get you going. Feel free to DM me and I’ll be happy to text, FaceTime or whatever you need.

The retrofit is finnished and i didnt remove the center console. I disconnected the + and - wire from 12v socket and then took 2 male connectors with wire and put them in the female connector and then taped them shut so cant come out or create a bad contact the left over wire 58g i left in the 12v socket connector and used a black tap connector. Those are the 3 wires from 12v slot 1 + slot 2 58g slot 3 -

Then i wired the 2nd - wire slot 5 to the - wire from 12v socket slot 3. The 2 left over wires now are slot 4 and 6, slot 4 is k-lin to bdc and slot 6 the fuse cable to the front fuseholder.
Nice, thinking of doing this also but i dont understand the wiring part you described, did you pull a wire to the fusebox or tapped al wires into the connector on the side?

So there are 3 wires connected to the 12v socket (picture 1) and the rest to the side connector (picture 2)?

What year is your car? You basically make your own harness 6 pin harness which plugs into the 6 pin harness of the new cupholders. You grab power and ground from the 12v cigarette lighter as you won’t be using that plug anymore. Then you run a 22 wire to the BDC and a 14 gauge wire to a new fuse location. Both of those are in the front right footwell area. You also need to get it coded to work.

Thanks for the info, my car is from 22.
Coding isn't a problem, the 22 wire and a 14 gauge wire to the fuse area is the only thing holding me back to do it.

There are no wires i can plug into from that side plug from the center console ?

Correct. You need to make a new pin for the 22 gauge in the bdc and you need to make a new circuit in the fuse block above it with 14 gauge. Took me two days with the help from Deneyer because mine was a 26, but what I no now, I could do it in an hour. I have an extra storage console to save you some money. Send me a DM and we can have a quick talk to go over everything and then you can make your decision. I have a ton of pics too.

Since your car is a pfl you will need to use the connection of the op cause there is a difference between pfl(6wires) and lci(5wires)

He can still grab the power and ground from the cigarette (12 V) connector like you and I did, correct?

Yes but in a pfl there are 3 wires in the cigarette connector so you have to connect 3 wires there

Pin 1 + and 3 - are the same but you have a pin 2 58g. so you have to loop 3 cables in an pfl and pin 4 goes to pin 53 of bdc A258*4B Pin 5 and 6 are also same

Wow! That was an epic write up. Definitely something i will be tackling the Winter.

Hi, I have a 2024 X5 50e ( LCI ) , I was looking at ebay for used heated cupholders and top trim and oem cable socket for around $300, was thinking to get one and do it. Let me know i can find it cheaper.

I have some questions after reading the forum:
1 - is the cigarette lighter still functional after the change ? if not, is there a way to make that work too ?
2- about the coding, except the Enet cable, how much does it cost for license? I see people saying token master hasnt replied in months to get back to them with license for Esys launcher. how hard is it to code it to run ? never coded a bmw. Can someone code it for me ?

3 - I have the factory warranty and also 8 year hybrid battery warranty left, does coding void that? ( not leased )

4 - does this work on LCI ? aren't the LCI's locked for coding ?

5 - the fuse wire that we add to the socket, would be attached to another wire which is already in the console box ? or we should run the wire all the way to the fuse box at driver side ?

6 - for dis connecting the batteries at very first steps, just to make sure, the 50e batteries are:
- small one in the engine hood
- main one in the trunk under the center trim
- is there another one on the right side ? which connects the hybrid line ?

7 - sorry for so many questions as I am really confused. Would really appreciate if someone can help, and let me know IF ANYONE IS IN SoCal (LA, orange county, San Diego ) so I can reach out to and get extra hand.

I am in Maryland and was the one who posted above that I just did this upgrade. Send me a DM with your phone number. I will answer your questions. I have some parts too.

Actually, I tried but the Private message hasn't been activated for my account yet, it seems like that at least. I would appreciate if you DM me.

What about the coding in your LCI? What did you do?

I have a guy who remote coded it for me. They new cupholders won’t work until you have your car coded. One of the updates erased the coding and my coder only charged me 50%. The last two updates did not delete the coding on my 26 M60i.
