What's the lead time from placing an order and arriving at the dealer?
I've heard about 4-5 weeks?
It depends on each dealer. if they have an allocation it will be 4-6 weeks

I ordered mid August and my build is week 38. My last one was around 2 months from order to delivery.
Edit: I was moved to week 39, 9/25 build date.

I am in Seattle area and did not have much luck with discount or build slots. One dealership offered 4k off msrp but awaiting build slot
I was able to snag a incoming vehicle in Oregon for 4.5 % off msrp. On top loyalty which is 1000 (answered my open question from up top) and then bmwcca I should get another 1000 back. I got the 4.99 locked last month with no markup
Only compromise I had to make was settle on black extended merino. Instead of sakhir full orange.

I have not found a dealership in the tri-state that was budging on msrp for x5m and I called and emailed a lot of them. The non Ms I have seen deals for, but not the m. The best I got from dealers by myself was 1k off msrp when talking to the sales managers , regular sales person will only offer msrp. Brokers are offering 3-4% but slots are scarce and I assume dealers are probably giving to the customers that pay msrp first.

i got 8% off an order placed back in late Oct, delivered late Jan. This was through a broker. Same broker is saying 2% to MSRP for deals now.
