cobramite wroteSo guys I just logged Map 4 & 5 and sent them to terry. No issues even on map 5! It’s a complete monster on Map 5! I am running around 99-100 octane. Terry recommended not to go higher then map 3 if you are only using 93. But since I had some 104 octane race fuel I mixed in with 93 to achieve around 100 octane and it runs amazing on Map 5! If you don’t have race gas you can also put E30 but I am not a huge fan of ethanol because of the added maintenance that usually comes with running it. But so far no complaints only lots of smiles and amazing turbo sounds!Sounds good Man. Glad you are enjoying the JB4.
Please let us know how it runs on the higher boost level maps.

Here is the response I received:
Thanks for reaching out.
Many are installing the JB4 on an otherwise stock car, no worries there. You would install the JB4 fully / normally, I'll include the install guide below for your reference.
91 octane, you'll likely need to stick with Map1, but data logs will confirm 100%.
Any other questions, let me know.

Basically I will get a 3psi bump and have data logs which will determine if there is more potential. Most likely I will be limited to map 1, which I am totally fine with, however this is essentially the same increase as RC less any capacity for data logging. IMO the additional cost makes the JB4 a safer option with the ability to expand later if desired.
😒 I want more 🐴💨 in my stable.... suggestions?
Please keep updating your experience with the device. Thanks
Car ran great, ran Map 3 on 93 octane. Burger Tuning has some of the best “tech support” and I will be getting a JB4 for my next car.
megabmw wroteI’m interested as well. Would like to see the power difference on the 50e.Anyone tried out JB4 on a LCI Hybrid 50e?
Also could we crank it up past Map2 on 93 being that the 50e has a lower base psi vs the 40i?

O_que wroteI’m going to buy the dragy and get some official numbers. Running JB4 on Map 5 with a 40i. I really have to say this thing is a monster and sometimes I can’t believe it’s as fast as it is. Via the JB4 app, the fastest 0-60 I’ve logged is 3.600 on the flattest road I was able to find. E85 blend.Anyone have draggy runs with the gen 3 motor on the JB4 I’m curious to see if this motor is that much more of an improvement since the TU.
Wish downpipes were made for this thing. I’ll keep posted if I get the dragy. I am currently considering upgrading to a X5M. But knowing how great this thing drives with springs + JB4, it’s really damn hard to justify the cost difference.
e92m3allday wroteI’m gonna be getting the JB4 next just waiting to get some other things I need before hand. And hopefully XHP will be able to tune the trans too. I bet it’s crazy on e85, have you been sending logs to Terry and the guys ?I’m going to buy the dragy and get some official numbers. Running JB4 on Map 5 with a 40i. If the JB4 drives like stock but feels like the car just has more HP when you lean into the pedal, and is safe, long term, and can still drive slow and smooth like stock when you are just putting around town, then I would be interested.
You could void your warranty though.Piggybacks do make me nervous vs a flash tune which is not possible yet on this motor.

Aussiejem wroteYes, you can, I have it on my 50e and is pretty awesome.Wonder if this JB4 can be installed on the 50e B58 TU2 hybrid unit...
Jimmyv15 wroteYou’ll need a xhp tune for that not out yet for our cars. X5 would improve with oneJust got my JB4 tune for my 24’ X5 40i and was wondering if anyone noticed any transmission improvements when running the JB4?
Tropikal wroteWhen you installed it, did you just disconnect the 12v battery as usual per the Burger instructions or was there anything extra you had to do to disconnect power?Yes, you can, I have it on my 50e and is pretty awesome.
I've installed a JB4 on 3 different BMWs but never a hybrid.. Just want to make sure I don't mess anything up!
