Several years ago this what what my wife and her mom came out to after catching a movie at a theater
If that happened to me the exchange with the other driver would not end well.

I hate parking lots almost as much as I hate people in general. I always make a point to park in areas where I can either prevent othes from parking next to me, or make it obvious enough that I don't want others parking next to. But people still do.

I was with a friend once and I parked out at the end of the lot. She asked why I parked so far away and proceeded to tell me no one is going to hit my car. The next day we were leaving a store, I parked in the back, someone parked next to me and door dinged my car. I pointed it out to her asking what she had to say, she said nothing.

Related but unrelated, a co-worker said the other day she came out of the grocery store to a note on her car. She is a Iraq war veteran with over 20 years service and parks in the veteran parking spots. The note said "you don't look much like a veteran to me. Park in the back you piece of shit!"

The presumptuous, passive aggressive notes have always driven me up the wall.

I've got a buddy that is paralyzed from the chest down but is a big-time petrol head. He frequently gets nasty letters for him parking in the handicap spots - not because of the distance to wherever he is parking for, but because he needs the additional space to coordinate getting in and out with his wheelchair. Apparently it's impossible for a person that needs a handicap parking spot to drive a 800hp Cadillac or a dune buggy or a... If the letter-leaver really gave that much of a damn, I guess they could have looked inside to see the hand controls.

I shopped other companies but couldn't find anything close to my rate. I did tell them not to contact or solicit other products, I'll call them when I needed them.

Yeah, my wife called police, there was a minimal amount of damage

I googled the guys name and an obituary of his wife came up & this all happened almost exactly at the 1 year anniversary of it

I considered dropping it all but ultimately decided to move forward anyway, really bad things happen to all of us but that doesn’t excuse what he did. No consequences just condones shitty behaviour

Now to lighten the mood a little. I think this qualifies for the parking lot moron thread by the title if not the spirit of the thread.

One of my favorites:

Some dude parked next to a red curb at the super market with his flashing lights on while staring at his cellphone. Meanwhile, there are dozens of empty parking spaces just 30 feet away.

Emergency? Nope. Fat wife had to buy some cigarettes.

I need to create a body cut out like that to spray some bodies in the lot at work, just for fun. Our lot is huge maybe 10% full but would make it fun because everyone parks under a few Oak trees in the summer. Also, there are a couple of bullet holes in the building from the neighborhood.

So typical. At least your spot is a nice wide spot.

If I were a policeman and happened to drive by at the moment that photo was taken, I'd be tempted to stop and say "Excuse me, ma'm, may I see your driver's license please?" When she handed it over, I'd pull out my trusty pair of scissors, cut it in half and hand it back to her.

I'd probably get suspended without pay.

Came out to see this. WTF?! Glad I parked close to the cart return.

My co-workers irritate me as well. They typically park well enough, but they are inconsistent as to where they park. Some days I get in and my typical spot is open, other days someone who usually parks the other side of the lot is in my spot even though half the lot is open. It's always the same few people that just park where ever.

I don't get it, we are there every single day, why not just park in the same spot like everyone else does?

Yeah, that's annoying. I think most people knew I preferred to park there. I mean, you see the same white BMW in the same spot hugged up against the curb every day, it's a pretty safe assumption. It wasn't a big deal to me if it was taken by the time I got there or if somebody took it while I ran to lunch, but it was the only space in the whole lot like that. So for me it was either park there or in the next lot over and walk. I'm just glad I don't work there anymore and not just for parking reasons

I park in a similar spot at my current job and no one even parks next to me. I've gotten really used to walking long distances because I'll only park on an end space. I can't even remember the last time I parked in a space where 2 cars can park next to me. No dents, dings or scratches on a 15 year old car, so I'd say it's working.

At my last company we had this old guy that was just grumpy about everything. Nothing was ever good enough for him and very vocal about his complaints. He had a specific place he would park and went has far to ask a vendor to move their vehicle that parked in his spot while he was away grabbing lunch at time.

About once a quarter I would come into the office about two hours earlier than usual for the sole purpose of parking in his spot and watch him throw a fit. :bellyroll

Everyone KNOWS that is my spot, an angled edge where I back in and my passenger wheels are nearly on the grass, well beyond the line on that side.

So much so, "Hey, you got a new truck!" the first time Luna Taco came to work.

P.S. I get there AT LEAST an hour before everyone else.

I had to ask one coworker why she was always across the line when she parked next to me. "What lines, I'm just parking the same distance from you as anyone else" :slap:

This afternoon I opened the garage and as the light came in I instantly realized there was a small dent on the front passenger door of our brand new Kona N. It had to have happened at the Braves game last night but I parked hugged up against a curb just like in my pics above. I was pretty pissed at first because it's been 8+ years with my BMW without a ding on it and here it is 1 month in with this car and it's already got a blemish. I immediately searched for PDR on Google Maps and found a dude with 5 stars that's 4 miles away from me. Shot him a text with a pic of the damage and he stopped by within 2 hours on his way home. Took him probably 5 minutes to massage the dent out and there's literally no trace of it. Charged $75 after quoting $100-$150 in the text. Some people suck, other people are awesome.

Unfortunately, we will always have to deal with parking lot morons. I've realized that we Car Enthusiasts are a rare breed, even though it seems like we are many.

While we go to great lengths to preserve the longevity of our cars' beauty and performance abilities, most people simply do not hold the same value to what they perceive to be a mere object.

Even when I park my bike, I ensure not only is it positioned protectively, but also courteously to others.

Yet we get a bad rap.... I know the BMW assholes exist but the stereotype sucks.
