I have two “real” Speedmasters (both Racing models, not any Moonwatch variants), but I did succumb to the hype of the Moonswatch. I love a good collection and they are cheap enough to hunt down!

Thrill of the chase is real, and I’ll only buy in person (not about StockX or eBay on these…)

Purchased Earth when they first dropped in 2021 at a work conference in Vegas; Jupiter from the Miami location when visiting family; Pluto and Uranus (not pictured, purchased as a gift for my Mom) at the “popups” in LA at the century city mall; and most recently, Mercury when in NY visiting our NY office for work.

Planning on hunting down Neptune when I am in Houston for a wedding the first week in November (unless the Los Angeles/Topanga Mall swatch store opens up first).

Show off your Moonswatches!

I don't live near a Swatch store, so this was a huge miss for me. I did buy the Mission to the Moon version for the novelty of it on Chrono after the hype died down. It was marked up a little but I figured if I had to drive back and forth to a city that had one, I could have easily spent more than I paid.

It's really only worth $30 though. I would have paid something like $1k if they would have at least used a mechanical movement.

Thankfully the Blancpain collab used the Sistem51 automatic movement (however, this movement is non-serviceable - the case cannot be opened once shut).

The Moonswatch is definitely just a plastic quartz watch hyped up by the “Omega” name. Still fun, though!

I agree. I probably would have bought the whole set if they were more accessible or able to be ordered online. I hate the strap, it's too small, but the watch is begging for an official Omega NATO strap so probably will swap it out.

I can't believe that Omega went in for this. I have a Speedy Moonwatch and the thought that Swatch is now making what is arguably a knockoff is just poorly thought out.

I don’t think Omega had a choice; they are owned by Swatch Group (as is Blancpain)

Well then that's just a shame.

Nice collection of watches
I don't like the way those 3 sub registers look on those quartz chrono models , they look awkward when compared to their auto siblings

You’re not wrong … I love my “real” speedies!

The Moonswatches are just “fun” though!

I found a mercury when I was in Vegas in May, I wore it a few times, sold it a few days ago.

These are fun watches to collect...and as long as you go in knowing that it is a colorful tribute to the original, enjoy it for what it is.

I have the Mission to Pluto. My daughter has the Mission to Venus and my wife has the Mission to Uranus.

I have the Mission to Pluto and my son has the Moon Swatch. They are nice. I have worn the Pluto three times in six months. Not a rotational heavy hitter.
Thinking of selling the Mars and getting the new Swatch/Blancpain.

We love our real speedies too!
My wife’s vintage one (can’t find a photo of hers):omega-speedmaster-reduced-38347838-l-a4548d.png

I think you have to get rid of the original strap to really make it stand out better. Otherwise it really does look cheap, like any other plastic quartz watch you get at walmart.

When they first came out I really wanted one but was hard to come by, I was also partial to only Mission to "Moon", "Mars", and "Neptune". Fortunately I was finally able to find the Moon and Mars when I was in Asia earlier this year (Japan & Korea). My hopes is to keep the straps pristine and as c1pher's user avatarc1pher mentioned, look kinda cheap on the watch, so haven't worn them but will post pics.

I am partial to blue watch faces and straps and so only model I really like is the Mission to Neptune model which is impossible to find at a reasonable price.

Also I read that Swatch had a QC issue and the dye from it was rubbing off on the skin and as a result they stopped production.

They did and fixed the problem, but it was out of production for at least a year, making it the most difficult to find. I’m still on the hunt for one from a boutique!

I also heard that there are counterfeits being sold and therefore I would only purchase one at an official Swatch store.

I’ve heard the same! Only purchasing from an official store. There isn’t one close to me (Los angeles), but the “hunt” is part of the fun!

I’ll be in Houston for work and a wedding next weekend and looking forward to checking out the store there and hopefully picking up Neptune and one of the Blancpain x swatches as well
