Do you have time alignment set?

By default, the Woofers’ time alignment is not ideal.

I don’t have iD8 measurements. But on iD7 the Right Woofers’ time alignment/delay needs to be reduced by 1.5 ~ 2.0 ms, to get it in time with the Left. Which would result in better Bass response.

If you have to Time Alignment set yet, then you can achieve this by adding 1.5 ~ 2.0 ms to each channel, keeping the Right Woofer on 0.

Ideally you would want to time align all speakers. If you want to try it, can send you the delay vales I have for iD7…
You can get time alignment pretty good by using the distance and measuring with a tape. Though really you should just get a mic and run through the auto calibration detailed earlier in the thread. Its not hard and gets a pretty good result.

Though I still suggest a sub under the cargo floor if you really want hard hitting bass.

Thanks! I'll wait to hear back from Bimmer-tech. Sounds like the alignment tuning is similar the mic setup with a home theater receiver. I would guess though that an X5 is not that different from another X5 of the same generation (unlike people's living rooms)? I've got some homework to do to see if I can calibrate it myself but if anyone with an 2024 post LCI X5 with a calibrated file they can share, I would be very appreciative. Thanks guys!

Bimmer-tech got back to me and sent me some tune files. Amazing! It sounds much better now. It sounded just off when I first installed it out of the box. I thought it came with a tune file but the couple tune files they sent me sounds so much better. I would say now it's 8-9/10 system. Bass is better than before. Still could use a bigger sub but I'm happy now.

Excellent. Glad that it got sorted out.

Hi, you had said you ordered the JL 12tw3 Sub in a preloaded box. Do you know which box it was that fit in the area for the spare tire? Was it the JL Audio CS112TG-TW3 set up using a power wedge box or was it a different or custom enclosure? Thanks!

I haven't run any additional tests, but wanted to give an update on the Morels I added to my 2023 45e.

After significant burnin (probably 100 hours or so, reasonable volume) I can say they sound amazing. I was just thinking this weekend about how they've improved over time, especially recently. I liked them before, but love them now.

While not an audiophile per se, I am familiar with high end equipment and that's why I went with Morel (over Focal). I was just a little afraid of the metal tweeters - I'm a little sensitive to sharpness in tweeters and the Morel silk dome tweeter seemed like a more natural choice, and I'm very happy with the choice.

If it matters (and you're curious about my listening creds), my wife has the exact model but higher spec with the HK model. While good, we both agree that the Morel/dsp Amp combo is better sounding even to non-picky listeners. The bass is very tight and pleasant compared to the somewhat boomy HK, and the silk dome tweeter is just smooth with no fatigue while listening.

At home I love to test speakers and have a B&O Beosound 2 3rd Gen, Beoplay A1, and Bowers & Wilkins headphones with permanent placement in my home. (Lots of HK, JBL, Treblab, Bose gear around, but these three are the best.)

Just today during my commute I was listening to my speaker test playlist and a couple of songs really stand out if you want to know how I frame them:

Tin Pan Alley - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
- The tweeters stand out incredibly here
Nameless - Dominique Fils-Aime
- Breathing and clarity are first rate, prominent but not overpowering.
Paper & Glue - Vandelux
- Nice tight bass gives them a workout without being overpowering.
Jerry Was a Racecar Driver - Primus
- I always listen to see if the early part is clear and obvious. It gets lost in lesser speakers
Quick Musical Doodles - Two Feet
- That early sustained bass BOOOOOOM will give your speakers a workout
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel - The Piano Guys
- Not the most perfect recording, but I love Steven Sharp Nelson's playing of the Cello. Outstanding and haunting.

I can share more, but these are my go-to songs.

Happy to answer any questions if you'd like to know something.

Glad you liking the morel combos. Those underseats are something else on articulate bass and need very little EQ.

Might not be your music thing , but there is a Massive Attack song remixed with bass guitar playing that really brings out their capabilities. There is plenty of weight and low end on the bass guitar and from 3 mins on the second bass guitar riff is something else.

Hello,
My car is equipped with a basic Top HiFi audio system. I've already replaced all the speakers and the subwoofer under the seats with Focal ones. Could someone please share the DSP configuration files with me? My email : dc620321@gmail.com
Thank you so much!

For anyone that has installed the Morel IR/IP, do you still need to implement the cable splitter wiring for the front door or directly connect the crossover wirings to the factory connections for the midrange and tweeter?
