Just got a response on a group buy. Valvetronic is open to offering a group buy discount, first we will need to get a head count. If interested in a cat back exhaust system exclusive for the X5 M60 please reply in this thread.

Good find, however it seems to be for the X7 only at this time.

Still waiting for additional info from Valvetronic. They are aware of this thread. Will update when more info is provided.

Just got off the phone with Valvetronic. I do have some good info.

First, they are awaiting the arrival of the systems which are in transit.

Second, I have confirmed that there will be an adapter for a bolt on fit to the M50.

Third, we should be getting more info this coming week on what to expect as well as a potential media drop.

Seems like we are getting close boys and girls!

Don’t quote me, but I’m guessing somewhere in the ballpark of ~$3K before group buy discount. A 3Kish price was mentioned as an example.

Aspiring M60 owner here. Got a noob question, doesn’t changing exhaust void the car warranty? I read in a previous thread that the dealer voided the warranty for changing the audio system, so a bit curious.

Any car warranty will only void the warranty to which the aftermarket part can be proven to have caused the malfunction. In this example, a higher flowing exhaust is not going to be the cause for a piston ring breaking. Conversely, the aftermarket exhaust could rust sooner and that would void any warranty on the exhaust system. Essentially you can’t have an engine warranty voided because you put tint on your car unless they can prove the tint caused the engine to blow.

Thanks a lot for the response. I am definitely going to get an aftermarket exhaust once I have my car. This forum rocks!

I would be interested for the M60i as well. Thanks!

Their u-tube video popped up on my feed, which subsequently led me to the forum to discuss.....

Did anyone notice the exhaust bezel covers removed off the X7.

I get why the bezel covers are removed
It sounds good but it looks so half assed with the bezel covers missing IMO...
Enough for me to second guess it.

I would guess they just hadn’t reinstalled the covers. Can’t imagine they would overlook a detail like that.

Depends on what size the exhaust is .....in order to make it *fit*

I haven't looked recently but I believe the Dahler is just the same

Bezels are removed for other manufacturers as well. Dahler for instance. In fact, when you watch videos on YouTube, you’ll see they CUT out portions of the fender to make the exhaust tips fit (

This is one of the reasons I’m sitting on the fence deciding if to go with an aftermarket exhaust or not. To me, the removal of the bezels is rice tuning. I wouldn’t mind it on a Honda s2000. But I’m not in that market

So far, I found only one exhaust which fits the OEM bumper and allows you an option to keep the bezels. It’s made in Italy by Supersprint. It also has an option to add nice tips, but then you go the same route as Dahler and others, meaning you need to cut the bumper. The problem is, it costs upwards of $8000 installed :mad0259:, including secondary cat replacement with downpipes. Sounds better than stock, not sure if better than Dahler though
