It's a very sad and unfortunate state of affairs for my Team. Injuries to professional athletes are part of the game. We simply got hit with more than usual to our Stars.
If I'm Nico, I am completely shutting things down and going after Cooper Flagg. If we miss him, you still acquire that Top 5 pick for Trade leverage.
Either way, as this Team is currently constructed, and once healthy, they are nearly unstoppable! And regardless of the above setbacks, I predict Dallas will Win a Championship before Lakers with Luka.
I watched every minute of that Boston game. Absolutely zero chance LA gets past Boston or Cleveland in a 7 game Series. And I don't see them defeating Denver or OKC in a Series either based on their current roster.
Man, as a long time Mavs fan myself Marcus, you just don’t get rid of your FRANCHISE player for an often injured 31 year old aging star. Nothing against A.D., but give me Luka any day of the year. If my memory recalls, weren’t we just in the finals against Boston?? If I’m the Mavericks organization, I continue to build around Luka and bring in defensive minded players to help the organization get back to the finals! Obviously, NICO and ownership had other things in mind!! :mad0260::mad0260: Had Cuban made the trade, he would have gotten quite a bit for Luka, but we all know he would have never made that trade! NICO obviously isn’t the smartest GM out there! When you trade a franchise player like Luka you ask for a minimum of three #1 draft pics, Dalton Knecht and or Austin Reeves, as well as Anthony Davis! Anything else is just FAILURE!! End of my rant!

I hear ya. It's been a Month or so. Shit is done. It's over. What exactly does it do for me or anyone for that matter, to continue bitching and complaining about it? Folks think the Wealthy, Casino Owners, turned NBA Owners, are about Fire the GM? That shit ain't happening LOL!
I mean, maybe it's my age. Maybe it's the mindset. I refuse to cry over spilt milk. That's not how I'm built. .
Team > Player. Period.

That a boy don’t worry about what u can’t control. It was a very bad trade for Dallas

Dumbest. Trade. Ever.

Luka fighting through all the emotions and tears, comes back to Dallas and drops 45 on the Mavericks! Way to go Luka!! Way to go!!:thumsup:

Luka is a very flawed player, no defense, he pouts a lot, doesn’t seem committed to staying in shape and he complains to the refs all the time. He is a one trick pony as an offensive star but they are hard to find. I’d give Dallas a D- on the trade.

See how that ended for him. There’s such a thing called “ Defense.”

Spends a lot of time crying to the referee’s. That’s Leflops job.

I will always appreciate Luka and what he brought to my TEAM. He's no longer a part of this TEAM. I don't wish him ill will nor great success either. He is now the competition.
I absolutely agree that Dallas should have gotten more for this young, superstar. That was a missed opportunity. But I also see exactly why the trade happened. I witnessed it in detail in last year's FINALS where his Defense was a complete epic liability.
I also will add this...
Dallas will win a Championship before he does with the Lakers.

As a T Wolves fan I took a lot of enjoyment from seeing them beat up on the Lakers. Especially Luka after what he did to us last year in the playoffs. Anthony Edwards is a total bad-a#$ and is afraid of nothing.

He’s one of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen

Thing is, it's not just what he is NOW, it's what he would become after signing a new mega contract. Where's the motivation to get in shape and become a better player?
Trades matter after three years.....or more.

BINGO!!!!!

And THAT ladies and gentlemen, is what Patrick Dumont and the new Billionaire owners I'm certain, asked themselves.

His Supermax contract with Dallas would have been nearly $345,000,000.00! That's a lot of Fn zeros! Would Luka give them the return on investment, which is multiple Championships?
I say nope. They obviously agreed.

After hearing jj Redick call Luka out maybe trading Luca wasn’t the worst idea it’s just that the dumbass GM didn’t get enough

Well that confirms the NBA rigs the lottery.

Its not like when AD went to the Lakers, Pels got #1 pick and got Zion
Or when Lebron left Cavs, they got #1 pick and got Kyrie
Or when Stern couldn't sell the Pels...they got #1pick and got AD

EXACTLY

I am beyond stoked! Flagg has more upside than Luka and his Defense is incredible!
Dallas will be pursuing a PG and I fully expect Dallas to be right there in the TOP 3 in the WEST for years to come!

This seems a lot more than a conspiracy theory. I feel bad for the teams not on the NBA radar

Everyone saying the draft wasnt rigged or the NBA would never do this, is looking at it in a vacuum.

Dallas getting the #1 pick this year, sure it could happen. They had a 1.8% chance.

But, for this to continue to happen has to be a super miniscule chance of happening.

I've seen a lot of arguments against the theory saying other teams wouldnt agree to it, but 1) Im not so sure they wouldnt, and 2) Im not so sure it would matter. The NBA propping up certain teams is still good for the overall league, and it continues to bump up the bottom line. At the end of the day, the NBA and its teams are businesses and the the bottom line > team success.

It may be good for business but it’s completely unethical and unfair.

Say it isn't so.... 🤔

LeBron James And Austin Reaves Reportedly Don't Like Playing With Luka Doncic https://search.app/Z8V2P

Also in other NBA News... I am so ecstatic to have the young phenom who can not only score but also play Defense: Cooper Flagg!

My MAVS will be right there in the MIX next season. TOP 3 in the West.

no actual quotes from either player, just one "insider" saying this, while the players have been saying completely opposite things. Not to mention, this "insider" isnt even someone who covers the Lakers, he covers the Suns.
