Hi all
just prepping for my delivery.

In the UK , all new cars have a warning system enabled which alerts you when you go over the speed limit etc. It is generally labelled as "driver assistance" .

This is an EU regulation so is across all marques.

Most of us hate it...the annoying pinging the minute you step over the speed limit.

So my quesition is...( for UK ) , what is the quickest way to turn it off in the X5 G05 ? ( eg in Jaguar its a one button press on the steering wheel )

Just for those who dont know...you cant turn it off permanently...it re enables every time you start the car :-(

cheers

You didn't say what year is your G05. If it's pre-LCI you may be able to code it off through bimmer code. I believe in the US it can be turned off in the Idrive.

Your vehicle should have a button near hazard lights with a green car symbol inside a circle - that's to turn off all the nannies - see if that works (but that will turn off other features as well).

Here in US, I am searching for a different solution. My vehicle has the ability to set a fixed speed as "overspeed warning" and I have it currently set to 73 mph (since most highways here are either 65mph or 70mph. I am trying to figure out coding to enable dynamic excess speed warning so the car warns me (say 5mph) over posted speed limit.

I did a bit of handbook reading and apparently you press the SET button on the steering wheel to turn it off ...

I'll give it a try when mine turns up
