atruelunatic wroteTo quote Kramer…that is some sweet action! Out of curiosity atruelunatic, is the delivery via train(BNSF) via Kansas City or trucked in? ThanksOne step closer, looks like we have a tentative 11/13 pick up to 11/19 delivery at my home in Seattle. Was also able to lock in 0.9% for 48mo instead of 2.99%
PNWJeff wroteTrucked through private carrier. Seeing if we can find earlier slots, hopefully will get this locked in tomorrow if so.To quote Kramer…that is some sweet action! Out of curiosity atruelunatic, is the delivery via train(BNSF) via Kansas City or trucked in? Thanks
atruelunatic wroteA very good outcome. You’ll have it no time. Via train I’ve been given 11/27 as est delivery This all seems faster than the process I went thru in 2023….Trucked through private carrier. Seeing if we can find earlier slots, hopefully will get this locked in tomorrow if so.
THE WAIIITINGGGGGGGG! Its gets harder and harder the closer i get lol.
ThaSkeptic wroteGood to hear. The break-in period will be the real tease! ha Its nice when the eta dwindles down to single digit days! Mine left the BNSF rail in Kansas City on 11/11…so ive still got about 2 weeks to go…On the truck en route to dealer - BMW Genius says eta of Tuesday the 18th.

ThaSkeptic wroteCongrats, looks great. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.ITS HERE! Or at least it was. Off for a couple of days to get PPF and Ceramic Coating, but i got a taste, and it is a seriously impressive machine.

PNWJeff wroteI haven't heard of any changes. I guess it is possible but more than likely it is their usual unwillingness to help, I guess their incompetence also can be coming into play.Hey Turtleboy, have you heard anything about staff at BMW Genius not being able to access tracking data on an X5 thats left (for example) the KC VPC on 11/11 headed to the Renton VPC? I get that its a luck of the draw on who you get to assist you, but the last 5x I’ve called, they were unable to provide any data other than est arrival to Renton. Seems odd. Curious on your thoughts. Thanks, Jeff
Time to figure out all these different iDrive settings.
Beautiful looking car! I'm a first time poster, but have been a member of the forum for almost a year.
I am almost ready to pull the trigger on a similar build and color as yours. I live in Gig Harbor, WA. Wondering if you can share where you had PPF, Tinting & ceramic done, approximate cost and how satisfied you were with their work.
Also, the other color I am considering is MBB. Just wondering how easy you find the BG to stay clean compared to other colors.
You reply much appreciated.
Abbybear wroteHey there! Hope you enjoyed the last few weeks of great weather before the rain again.Greetings Atrulunatic!

I had PPF, ceramic and tint all done at Accutint NW. They have 15% off with Avants membership. $2200 PPF, $1100 ceramic, $1100 tint (windshield, sunroof, all sides and rear). Prices included 15% but exclude tax.
Here’s my honest review after about 2.5 months.
PPF: 8/10, XPEL ultimate plus film. They use plotter cut film if that’s something you care about. This means you’ll see some edges around different areas instead of them custom cutting. There was a dust spot trapped under the film on the hood. They were able to make a small slit and remove it, but the slit is visible when the car is freshly washed. They’ll replace it when I get the chance to drop car off for another two days. Some edges lifted around some tight bends on the bumper but will also address it at the same time. So they stand by their work in terms of making it right. Since they use ceramic infused film, it cleans up real well. Even better than the ceramic coated paint surfaces.
Ceramic: So far so good. Not able to provide rating because only been 2.5months but haven’t noticed anything obvious.
Tint: 8/10. went with XPEL Prime XR instead of the Plus film due to the film’s hue. The higher performance film had more of a blue hue to it. Mainly noticeable when doing side by side comparison. Sun in the PNW isn’t too bad so figured I’d be good with XR. Rating 8/10 because I noticed one or two dust spots, but it’s on the rear side windows so I don’t really see it. I’m sure they’d replace, but I’m ok living with it as of now.
Brooklyn grey cleans up and hides dirt extremely well. I’ve only washed it 3 times so far and only when it starts to show dirt. It’s also parked outside. 100% satisfied with the color.

I'm heading out to BMW Northwest today to test drive and look over colors with my spouse. Based on reviews, really wanted to get the m60i with the Adaptive m suspension pro to minimize body roll & for more planted feel. But apparently that option is not available anymore. Appreciate if you can share how comfortable your ride is with the Air Suspension and in particular how it performs on turns at speed.
Best
Abbybear wroteI intentionally went air suspension since the M60i will be the primary road trip family car. I have the M3 if I want a better handling experience. With that said, on air suspension it doesn’t feel too bad and turns relatively well and agile given the size and weight of the vehicle. It’s very comfortable and happy with the results. Disclaimer that I never test drove either option prior to purchase. Just went with air suspension given my priorities. I’m also just on 20” wheels so that may also have a big impact to ride comfort.Atrulunatic, Wow! Many thanks for the detailed answer! Have to say that was one of the best reviews & detailed write-ups I've seen. Also, really appreciated you sharing your entire ordering journey with everyone on the X5 subforum.

2025G0540i wroteOh right! Forgot to include that info.atruelunatic Curious on the PPF what did $2200 get you as far as coverage? Guessing just front end and mirrors?

atruelunatic wroteThank you. The rockers take a beating you may want to consider that. I got full body ppf but they didn't do the grille. Is the film noticeable on the grille and I assume it's a matte film just on the grille?Oh right! Forgot to include that info.

Curious, if you don’t mind sharing, how much was shipping for you, and was it in an open vehicle or closed. Also, did they deliver directly to your residence? Any issues with condition in which it arrived?
Just a little nervous about shipping as I had a lot of damage to my Lexus recently shipped from TX in open carrier.
Abbybear wrote$2500 closed transport from the south to Seattle. Driver was able to bring within a block to my house. No issues at all. Surprisingly quick.Yes, thanks again. Will probably place order thru resident broker to get a decent discount. PNW dealers as we all know don’t discount much. Might just do a PCD for the experience and then ship from there.

2025G0540i wroteNot noticeable on the grille, they used XPEL stealth for that portion and blends well. I made custom mudflaps that seemed to help a bunch. But I see it getting beat up entering/exiting the vehicle so probably will have them add PPF there tooThank you. The rockers take a beating you may want to consider that.
