contango wroteHonestly for my m60i build it was pretty much the same and I found the my garage updates to have happened almost real time last week. When the car was delivered to the dealership on Friday, it updated within that same hour it was delivered. It was in "182" from Monday until Friday which was 100% accurate. If it still says 182, it may just be taking longer with the holidays and winter weather for the car to be on the carrier and for how long it stays on the carrier. Is there any opinions out their on which is more accuarate / real time... the bmw genius phone line "your build is enroute to the dealer" or mygarage "awaiting carrier assignment" status 182

Calling in, for me, was useless.Honestly for my m60i build it was pretty much the same and I found the my garage updates to have happened almost real time last week. I had time today to get it running. The tech is rather daunting when compared with my last BMW, a 2012 BMW 328i E92. The owners manual helps, but does not provide enough contextual information. I wish BMW would make a simulator so I could find where this stuff is and practice without sitting in the car and draining the battery. The manual needs more diagrams and screenshots.
The process after it hit the dealer was mundane and lengthy as it ran over the xmas break so it took a few days longer. Though, they did activate the MyBMW phone app which has vehicle tracking, it didn't blip much while it was on it's way to me. I think the only time it will report out is when the vehicle is moved (or woken up).
I had to meet the driver further down my block due to difficulty accessing my house (narrow road), which I warned him about ahead of time. I was the first of three deliveries, where the other two were an X7 and a what appeared to be a 5 series sedan, perhaps electric. All new cars.
I don't recommend a night time delivery if you have a choice, as it is hard to view the vehicle and look for damage. I brought a rather bright flashlight so i could look for any problems, but found none. Although everything worked out just fine, in the future I will opt for an in-person dealership pickup.
I was also disappointed that the dealership did not let me know when it was on it's way and when it would arrive. But I figured it out through obsessive use of the MyBMW app, which reported its location a few times. And the driver called about 8 hours ahead of time to let me know when he would arrive.
Also, when speaking with the driver on the phone before he arrived, he voiced concern about residential tree branches hitting highest cars on his rig. I couldn't offer much advice as I was not familiar with his rig. As it turned out, mine was not the highest one, so no danger there, but, if you have one delivered, you may want to check the roof for any issues. He seemed to do a good job watching for low hanging branches.
Randall V wroteThat’s awesome - my M60i finished production on December 19th but still hasn’t shipped. I’m so disappointed as it looks like I will miss out on the promo APR and will end up paying a lot more in interest. IMHO, there is no way it will get to the dealer before the end of January 2. When I check the MyGarage page it still shows “awaiting carrier assignment”.So, as of Saturday evening, Dec 27, I have received my X5. As I was busy on Sunday, i was unable to play with it.

GhostFlames wroteWhen my M60i build was "dispatched last week on Monday , it took until Friday for it to arrive at the dealer. With the holidays they have less carriers/drivers, etc and depending on where it's going it seems to be taking a few more days on the carrier. Good luck to you that it arrives by 1/2 to get the basically free $$ financing..I was close to giving up, but my M60i was just “Dispatched from the Factory”. Fingers crossed it shows up at the dealer tomorrow.

Neo1010 wroteVery nice, congrats!Got my build home just in time last week for the .9%. Rides pretty nice/soft in comfort mode. I was not able to test the Adaptive M pro suspension option (2VW) at a dealer as they didn't have one. All I can say it's 100% worth it. It's so impressive. I was driving her home into 35mph side gusts on the hwy, the wind was pounding the side windows. I heard the wind noise but didn't really think anything else until later I saw the sedan I came with in front of me swaying. Then I realized that the m60i w/ all the extra surface area didn't even move as I didn't feel any movement at all. It just feels a whole level more buckled down(vs the standard m60i setup) all around plus in sports mode it's a bit stiffer(then the regular m60 suspension tune) do to some different calibration they use w/ the package which I prefer. Took a few pics to share, unfortunately overcast out. She's filthy in these pics from all the salt spray on the roads, been to cold to wash her. Thanks to all for the great info, etc on the forum!

Neo1010 wroteYes and I’m upset with myself for not ordering black emblems with the build. I forgot you could do that until I saw your post back in December. I did order black emblems from ind and they will be here tomorrow so it will work out.Nice!! Looks in stealth mode w/ the color combo and black rims. Enjoy!
smjtri wroteYou have a 40i or M60? If M60 buy the emblems from an online bmw dealer and save a ton over IND.
