Suhail78 wroteNo need to remove in my opinion. I just make sure valve is closed before handing the keys. Now, maybe if you have something issue wise directly related to the exhaust you could be cautious there and remove to stock.so do you remove them before you take it in for service, or is that not a concern? Whats the consensus on that? Im considering ordering these, but was curious if people take them off before taking to the dealership for service, or is it all good to leave them on for service appointments? i've read that it may be better to take off before service, but seems like a hassle to have to to do that. Just curious what you fine folks are doing?

It shipped quickly and made it through customs without issue. Packaging is nice, and the product itself seems well made. Installation was relatively easy - just needed to unscrew 4 or 5 screws and pull down some trim pieces to access the stock valve controllers. I was able to assign two of my mirror buttons to the open and stock actions, but it is very hit or miss if they actually work.
As for the sound - It is very subtle. Honestly kind of disappointing. And that has nothing to do with the 11 mode, it does its job perfectly. The stock exhaust (M Sport) is just not very loud or engaging. At this point I am considering having a local shop remove the resonator to see if that can add some volume. Or getting some downpipes. (or both) The 11 mode would still be a good addition with those two options.
Edit to add: If you are considering one of these expecting a huge difference, you will probably be disappointed.
LimeGrayJ wroteI agree. It sounds fantastic on a cold start up, but after just two minutes of running it is barely louder than stock. I still like it and will leave it on if nothing else for the cold start sound. Really wish it would stay that way!I decided to buy the 11 Mode based on comments in this thread. Here are my thoughts:

For those that have taken this first step, what are your considering as a next step(s)?
Here’s a small vid I did.
X5Mnwi wroteIf you download BimmerLink, you can open and close your vales and get the same thing for a no charge plus then you have a tool to diagnose thingsAfter the 3 weeks I waited for the 11 mode controller to show up, I installed it. Took around 5 minutes as the ass end of the 2026 X5 M60i is closer to the ground than expected so had to do a little squeezing.
I'll run with this for a couple weeks before I see if I need to pull the trigger on an exhaust.
swainbmw wroteTrue. But it’s $50-$150 for the OBD2 reader and $70 for the app.If you download BimmerLink, you can open and close your vales and get the same thing for a no charge plus then you have a tool to diagnose things
The 11 mode is now $240 so would be cheaper unless people don’t want to mess with that. Mine is programmed to my rear view mirror so when I start the car I open the valves. No issue for me.
Now yes I have the reader on order so I can adjust a few cosmetic things with the car.
X5Mnwi wroteThat's cool on your rearview mirror. I just would not want a remote to run it.True. But it’s $50-$150 for the OBD2 reader and $70 for the app.

swainbmw wroteYeah, my wife and I both drive it. It's her daily driver and my weekend driver so she's not a big fan of too much sound. I think the 11 Mode is a nice alternative to having some fun with the sound of the exhaust for the price. It's definitely not for everyone. She thinks the exhaust I put on without opening the valves is somewhat loud. Ha!! Uh...nope.X5Mnwi wroteThat's cool on your rearview mirror. I just would not want a remote to run it.True. X5Mnwi wroteDo you mind asking, if you are willing to sell you original exhaust? I am mainly looking for the end muffler part.Yep. That’s where I was. Ended up doing a Yonristic Cat Back exhaust on my M60i. I had them prep it for my OEM valves and utilized the 11 Mode. Now it has the sound I wanted.
