I've located the aux battery near the firewall under the hood, and it looks like it's underneath the windshield trim. Does that trim have to come out? Is there a video that explains this process?

I'm in the same boat.. Looking for some direction on a 2022 BMW X5 m50i... getting intermittent DSC, stability errors... A quick search showed this to be common of a failing secondary battery. I tested the battery and it was indeed in need of replacement. The dealer wants $750, which is insane. I'm finding conflicting info on what is needed to replace this battery. Can anyone point me in the right direction on the process.. Do I need constant power while replacing? Can I use a OBDlink CX with Bimmerlink to code in the new battery or do I need something else? It is a m50i with the v8. Any help would be much appreciated
