Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this.

I am looking at a 2026 X5 xDrive40i (Climate control, Driving Assistance, M Sport, Parking assistance, and premium package) currently priced at 72k with only 1500 miles.

However on the Carfax there was a service at 637 miles for body electrical system check. I dug a little deeper and found these service records, it appears that the BCP was replaced by the original BMW dealer. Apparently, the prior owner tried to wire a Redarc brake controller and shorted the BCP, I have attached the service records with the service assessment and replacement. The BCP has been replaced. Does anyone have any experience with replacement of the BCP? Are there any expected or known long term issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It likely will be fine but why fool around with it. You can order a new one for a few grand more plus then be eligible for incentives which may actually make it less expensive. If you don't want to shop around then contact one of our resident brokers and see what they can do for you.
