Hello all,

Considering secondaries for the X5M but I don’t want to compromise the sound of the Dinan exhaust I just installed because it sounds wonderful. Some of the examples I’ve seen on YouTube are a bit raspy and I have never and I much prefer the throaty exhaust note.

Not set on secondaries, the mod bug keeps biting and I want to have another excuse to turn a wrench again.

Thanks

Secondaries make virtually zero change to the overall sound... If you hold up a secondary downpipe to the light the material inside is very minimal. I'd still swap in catless secondaries just to remove what little restriction there is.

100% not gonna ruin everything you already have! will make it stronger and more open, significantly sharper and more "metallic" than stock, cold start gonna be louder for 15-20sec hehe and more engine sound, I was missing so much before the mod. You'll get more pronounced "burbles" and "cracks" on downshifts, even without a tune, because removing the secondary restrictions allows the natural combustion sound to reach the tips. I would recommend ER and Ben at RG Sport
