Timmer-Bimmer wroteI am also at that same 14,000 mile mark and have not had the need to add additional oil.I would have it checked. I am at about 14000 miles. I have not had to put any additional oil in beyond the 10000 mile service.
I use absolutely NO oil after a long 3K mile road trip where I am doing higher speeds for hours at a time over days. The last two BMW V8TT never used oil and I checked a lot because of the past issues years ago.
I would bet the oil wasn’t filled all the way up on its last oil change.
The dip in the V8 models let you really keep track of any oil change well beyond the accuracy of the electric measurements.
MystroX5 wroteWait - I thought our engines didnt come with dipsticks??No not normal and I own many BMW V8TT. Newer V8TT designs eliminated and openly addressed any oil consumption from the past V8 hot V designs.

Yes, this was from my 2019 X5 50i M-sport. This was the transition engine where BMW finally solved the hot V oil consumption issue. That particular engine had the secondary dip stick and I checked that engine all the time to reveal in fact they did solve the issue. I had no noticeable oil consumption between oils changes.
Fast forward to the next M50i which was a completely different upgrade and the new V8TT was born with the hybrid M60i to follow.
