I've done this for a the M3/M5 folks with amazing feedback, and I'm humbled at the positive response.

More importantly, I hope the members here can use the info to arm yourselves against the dealers who may not be as forthcoming to get the best deal possible on these amazing cars.

I broker 80-100 BMWs alone on a given month, and I'll try to use my knowledge to knowledge of the game to help those shopping around.

Again, I will do my best not to self-promote and keep it fun and educational!

Thanks, and ask away!

How does the process work when the vehicle needs to be shipped? For example, lets say I would use a broker such as yourself to purchase an X5 and the vehicle comes from a dealer in PA. Where does the vehicle all go to after leaving Spartanburg? Will the dealer in PA receive it and perform the PDI or can it be shipped to a local dealer to do that? If the former, what shipping options are available to get the X5 to Colorado?

Thanks

Great question!

If it's a car being built, you have the option to take delivery at PDC in Spartanburg. Otherwise, it will have to go to the dealer we did the deal through so they can PDI it. From there, you as the customer will need to arrange shipping to your home/work at your expense.

Shipping cost sometimes kills any discount advantage of working with an out of state dealer/broker, so make sure that's part of your overall cost calculation.

Thanks!

Will the options for 2021 models that have been removed such as soft close doors, rear entertainment, ambient air, night vision, etc... be coming back?

Can you give me a idea on the value of my 2015 X5?

If we can ask anything, her is something I can't find info about: do you know if a smartphone connected to the car by Bluetooth is using the external "shark fin" antenna to enhance connectivity?

Thx

What you need to give quote? Build price?

Do you work with dealers in the west coast? Local pick up in Portland?

What's in it for you? How much do you typically make for each of the 80-100 cars you broker per month?

Unless he works for BMW, he can't possibly know that. I work for a dealer and we have no idea. BMW won't tell us that until the time the next cars are being built.

According to his profile, his broker fee is $399. He also gives a $50 discount to first responders and teachers.

I would also like to know this but I'm sure nobody knows except for BMW themselves.

1. What is the typical % discount off MSRP that you can get for your clients?

2. Would I still be eligible for loyalty rebates, BMW Financial rebates, & BMWCCA rebates if I buy through you?

9-10% off any bmw is typical

Yes lease and purchases are done through BMWFS, and I'm just helping you get the deal and structure the deal.

Thanks!

I primarily deal with the Northeast, but do ship cars to the West Coast. It only makes sense if it's a car over $100k because shipping can eat into the savings.

Thanks!

What kind of customers will go to a broker over a car dealership directly? How is your job different from that at a dealership?

Sorry, fundamental questions

That is a pretty good savings (assuming it is before the incentives and rebates I asked about). I usually have to do a ton of haggling to get to the 10% off mark so if you can help me save all that time then that would a huge benefit to me.

1) Do you still expect the 9-10% off on the new G80?
2) What's the toughest part of your job? is it the dealer side or the client management side, or something else?
3) Do brokers specialize by brand? Like you mainly only do BMW or do you also venture into other brands?
4) Do brokers work on non-luxury brands?

1. 0-5% is likely...most are being pre-sold

2.love this question...finding the right dealer contact who can handle the volume is the toughest part. I have some dealers I can't send more than 10 customers a month and others I can send 20 a day. Some dealers respond within minutes, others take 2-3 days to get back to me. I'm stuck in the middle when it takes to long to get a response on credit, inventory, registration, etc.

3. Most do all brands, but I see them as being a "master of none". I focus soley on BMW and my business partner does the other luxury makes. I can't get excited about other brands like I do BMWs, so I stick with what I know and love. Plus BMW programs are so easy to understand and calculate compared to MB, Lexus, Audi, etc.

4. Yes they do but there isn't enough savings on cheap cars to justify paying a broker fee. It will just kill the savings.

Great question!

1. customers who have no idea what a good deal should be and/or have anxiety of getting ripped off by a dealer

2. customers who don't have time to spend all day Saturday going back and forth with a dealer

3. customers who try shopping around and have no luck getting a great deal

Broker deals are pretty much cost and time saving. Deals are pre-negotiated and we make sure there isn't any hidden charges or markups.

I actually use brokers my personal cars because sometimes dealing with salespeople sucks bigtime with their canned sales lines.

I used a broker for a Porsche a few years back, and I'm 100% certain it was the best deal on the planet for a 718 I didn't even know I wanted.

Do you pay the broker fee only after you agree to buy the car?
