Do you pay the broker fee only after you agree to buy the car?

Great question!

1. customers who have no idea what a good deal should be and/or have anxiety of getting ripped off by a dealer

2. customers who don't have time to spend all day Saturday going back and forth with a dealer

3. customers who try shopping around and have no luck getting a great deal

Broker deals are pretty much cost and time saving. Deals are pre-negotiated and we make sure there isn't any hidden charges or markups.

I actually use brokers my personal cars because sometimes dealing with salespeople sucks bigtime with their canned sales lines.

I used a broker for a Porsche a few years back, and I'm 100% certain it was the best deal on the planet for a 718 I didn't even know I wanted.
Hey, I felt dirty asking this question on leasehackr but are the discounts on a purchase/finance typically similar? Have a friend interested in an X1 but I'm suggesting he wait until next months programs since this month looks pretty bad. He typically prefers buying or financing vs leasing but was going to suggest he run the numbers each way.

In the mean time I'm getting him to actually narrow down his options list and preferences so the search is more clear.

Hey there - I think this is a great post so thank you for posting. I've found it's tough to find that broker that can actually achieve 10-11% off MSRP before incentives. I can even pick up in Spartanburg so I thought it'd be easier (I think I can use any dealer in the US?).

Is it a myth or is it just right time right place? Also I would have to have it built (x6), which everyone seems to suggest is the same pricing as what you'd get for a car on a lot, but again I can't seem to find that broker!

I sent you a PM, but just curious how common it really is to achieve 10-11% off?

yes dealer discount is same regardless of cash/finance/lease. The incentives given by BMW can be different though

Pre-COVID 11-12% dealer discount was possible but with inventory so slow most broker dealers are 9-10%. Pricing is same regardless of build or inventory, but I can only speak for myself and my dealer network. Some dealers refuse to discount builds and others don't care

Considering ordering a 2021 M3 with MSRP about $80K. Any thoughts on payment for a 36 month lease with taxes paid up front (VA- 4%) and willing to put in a down payment as well. PCD preferred but not HEA car. Discount unlikely I imagine. Or is it too soon for any firm info? May even wait for AWD in July but that will add at least $2K to price. Thanks.

Do you work with Alaska BMW dealer? BMW of Anchorage?

The program isn't out for the m3/m4 yet but I imagine it to be similar to the 3/4 series like we've seen in the past.

My guess is just $1000/mo with taxes/fees upfront

Thanks. I will keep watching your posts and in the meantime checkout the cars in real life once they appear. Your range of info is very helpful.

How do dealers get below invoice pricing (without including the rebates customers get)? 11-12% is often well below invoice. I'm still wondering how the dealer I bought my X3 from made any money from the deal (not that I'm complaining). Friend bought one a week later after hearing my deal so it wasn't a fluke or anything.

In many, if not most cases, the invoice price is not what the dealer pays for the vehicle since there are holdbacks. Also dealers receive bonuses for various sales levels so when they are close they can actually sell a vehicle for less than it costs them (ignoring what they can also make on fees) since it will result in a bonus to make up for that loss.

I used Dan on my 21 X5 M50i

The short story is the best and easiest deal I have ever had. My car was a custom build Took 1 month. There were no surprises. My first time using a broker and I will only get my cars this way.

Is it true that the X6 actually “doesn’t lease as well” as the X5 or are they just not budging on that model?

I leased a G06 in March 2020 before the pandemic. 10% discount before incentives. Based money factor and base residual at that time.

As of today (Oct 2020) that's still the going rate for a G06. I have a deal open at 10% off MSRP with base MF and residual %, $2k in incentives on top of that for custom build. Which ends up being a nice lease for 3 years IMO.

That is great to hear. Can you give some details, either here or by PM, on the shipping part of your purchase? Thanks

The program is exactly the same as the X5

Some dealers just don't want to give them away

This was an amazing, fun build! I used one of your pics on my instagram because the color/wheel combo came out so well!

Thank you!!
