Next Level Auto Brokers wroteIs the aim for 10-12% (now 8-10%, cause ya know - COVID) off MSRP pre or post tax price? This was an amazing, fun build! I used one of your pics on my instagram because the color/wheel combo came out so well!
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing, btw. Had no idea of the perks of using a broker...wish I read this post before purchasing a few weeks back.
Every company, businesses, and even Govt. are leveraging COVID for their own advantage. If they can't manage the shit, let's blame it on COVID. yeah, it's due to COVID. Look at every company- high tech, products, resources, automotive - all laying people off because of businesses were down due to shutdown. All of them made a smart business decision - layoff workforce, increase profit on the balance sheet by lowering the opex, and increase the share price of listed company. Great!
BMW sales were down 16.8% last month. If the dealer is telling you there is so much demand for these cars that they can't get an allocation. Seriously, laugh at them, Fucking hilarious.
It's all wrong. It's a fake demand. BMW laid off people in their factories, no production, no allocations to dealers. Guess people were not buying new cars. It's all BS and drama.
doctorttt wroteI charge the customer an upfront fee instead of building in a commission...just more transparent that wayDo you get any commission from the dealer(s) for each vehicle transaction?
BHCJJS wroteYes 8-10% is the going rate now...inventory is still really low and dealers just don't have as big of a bogey to hit in terms of units. Is the aim for 10-12% (now 8-10%, cause ya know - COVID) off MSRP pre or post tax price?

I read the post below yours and supply chain is still an issue because of COVID
I think the biggest reason for the discount adjustment is that BMW HQ is no longer giving dealers bonus cash for hitting volume units. That made up at 1-2% difference the dealer can go back on
1. Fixed price dealers
2. Buying services
3. Brokers.
I would think that the advantage of buying from a dealer is that it establishes a relationship that may be beneficial when it comes time for service, with that dealer more willing to provide loner vehicles, etc.
The advantage to using a buying service, such as Costco, is that you can get a very good price without doing any work. People on this forum, and others, seem to report good discounts and general satisfaction.
That brings us to brokers. Since I have never used one I could speculate on the advantages, but since you are one, can you lay it out for me? Thanks.
Roanoke X5 wroteThank you! This is such great question! The traditional way of buying a vehicle is to visit a number of dealerships, then negotiate to get the best price. Because many people find this time consuming and unpleasant, not to mention unsuccessful, alternative have been devised -

1. Fixed price dealers
I've called some of these "fixed price" dealers and was floored at how terrible their pricing really was. There is one near the west coast in particular that is the highest grossing dealer in the country because of their fixed pricing structure...they don't below invoice. I kind of get it? No headache or worry but at a cost.
All BMW dealers are required to give a loaner for any service customer, so I'm not sure I see a huge benefit of dealing directly unless the dealer is willing to give great pricing every time you go in to buy a car. I seldom hear stories of working with a dealer for 20 years on M cars and each time they give them insane pricing. It's usually the other way around. Dealer earns your trust, then rakes you over the coals on subsequent purchases. I'm sure there are good ones out there who do right by the customer each and every time, but how do you keep them honest if you go in with blind trust? They are there to make money every single time. You aren't that special is the hard truth haha!
2. Buying services
Costco, Truecar, Edmunds, etc, are just lead generating sites. Their "deals" are for the masses who think they are getting a good deal without knowing the inner workings or what they may qualify for in terms of rebates. I actually had a person email me yesterday stating she received a True Car quote for 9.8% discount on an M340i xdrive in VA. Although this may be a legit deal, who knows what the MF is, rebates applied included or not, dealer fees, etc. Knowing the VA area dealers, I'm even more skeptical.
3. Brokers.
Not all brokers are alike.
Some don't charge a fee and make a commission from the dealer. Others charge the customer a fee instead of a commission from the dealer.
Some are just are just an extension of a dealer salesperson and just try to match a payment with your budget. Others fully disclose the discount, MF, fees, etc.
Some know the bare minimum about the car you are looking to buy. Others eat, sleep, breathe cars and have a wealth of knowledge on the model(s) and alternatives.
I think the most important point is that there is no wrong way to buy a car using any of these 3... It's just about how much time/money you are able to save ultimately.
How much discount can I expect to get on 2021 x5 custom order? I am in NYC. Also BMW finance has $2500 rebate, which becomes $3000 with PenFed membership. Just confirming that I can stack that on top of the rebate.
ChrisB7605 wroteRuby Red is not a color that is available in the US at this time. Next month they will start the individual paint program for the X5. I think there are 3 colors to start and they will continue to add colors each month. Perhaps Ruby Red will be one of them if it shows as available in Europe.I tried to order a new X5 today in the Ruby Red color seen below but was told this is a European exclusive. Is that correct that there is no way to get this color in the US?
Edit: Here is the info on the Individual colors that has been posted:
The following colors are available but more will be added. Each cost $5,500 and needs an 11 week lead time.
Grigio Telesto Pearl Metallic (P6M)
Available on G05 Models beginning in PW44
Urban Green (A04)
Available on G05 Models beginning in PW45
Frozen Black Metallic (U91)
Available on G05 Models beginning in PW46
As of PW47, all three paints will be available on the G05 / G06 / G07 / F95 / F96 Models
Beginning in PW48, we will increase the color offerings by one color each week. We will not know which colors will be added. You may begin placing your orders immediately to secure the earliest production weeks available

I don’t qualify for loyalty. Besides PenFed and BMWFS, are there any other incentives?
Marrduk24 wroteLast I saw there was no lease incentive for the X5 but that could have changed. Penguino wroteNeither, BMWFS gets the credit. Is the $7,500 credit on the X5 45e being discounted by BMW off of MSRP for a Lease? Or did it move to a tax credit via file return now?

Penguino wroteSupposedly they are passing some along with a higher residual but that could be debatable as to whether the hybrids still depreciate faster than non-hybrids.That makes no sense for BMW not to pass the credit over to consumers.
