Dinan_Engineering wroteI didn’t realize it before, but do you know if the mid pipe will be compatible with most secondary cat deletes? I have the evolution race works one, and it looks like it has a bigger diameter than the stock cat. From what I see, the midpipe slides over the cat. Wondering if it’ll work with a non stock cat.Doubtful. Going off of memory as I don’t have the engineering images to reference remotely but I am nearly certain the reason we went the whole length is the vast majority of the stock mid is hydrformed pipe (ie: not round) which is required to get it to mate and create a seal without gaps. Pretty sure the first round section where cutting could occur was within a foot of the cats anyway so rather than make another cut for little reason (no real cost savings) we extended it all the way so it could just be unbolted and dropped on that end.

arlind94 wroteEvolution Racewerks fits the factory midpipe so if the Dinan mid is designed to fit factory downpipes, it should be fine. I have the Evolution Racewerks secondary cat delete on mine. MIA_F80 wrotePlease post a before and after sound clip with the x-pipe. I've been on the fence as I don't want it to be obnoxious.Ordering now! I already have secondary catless so can’t wait to hear the difference!

weinerbarn wroteWelp, I think I just made the same mistake. Both look like they are designed to fit over factory piping. So if both increase in diameter at the mating point. We may have a problem. Nvm… I lied… should be fine based on these pics I snagged from another post by

Shuja_a wroteI think I paid $400 for secondaries. This was in 2021.What are reasonable shop quotes to get this and secondary downpipes installed? Im getting quotes in the $800 of both jobs. Doesn't it seem like on the higher end? They have to remove the exhaust to access the downpipes cant imagine the mid/xpipe taking too much longer.
I was quoted $100 for the midpipe now.
The sound increase is pretty good, I’d say if the secondaries was 10%, this is adding another 30-40%. The burbles are a lot more pronounced and idle sounds mean. The tone didn’t change much from stock, which is a good thing because I like the stock tone.
There’s no drone, another plus. Overall I’m satisfied with it and don’t think it needs any further changing.
arlind94 wrotesweet, would you mind creating a vid of the sound with open and close valves? I have secondary cat delete and planning on this res delete.Got it installed. Worked with evolution race works secondaries.

Video would be awesome! Can help me and others determine the difference with my 3 piece system I just ordered ( ER secondary, x pipe & axle back)

Took a quick video as I got to work, will try to take a better one later.
Did open/close valves in comfort and open/close valves in sport (second half)
arlind94 wroteMan that sound is fantastic! Plus the turbo spool is awesome! What RPM were you hitting? Sounds like maybe just under 3K? Also, do you have an intake on that beast? Wondering if I need to give Dinan more money for that spool! LolDinan X pipe

No intake, only second cats removed and now the X pipe installed. I didn’t notice the spool until I recorded that video, usually blasting music 😂

chrisdavelaw wroteStock cats are retained so there should be no issues with factory warranty. The only thing that would not be covered by BMW are exhaust related which after install would be Dinan components and not their issue anyway. If something were to happen in that regard (unless improperly installed) the Dinan warranty would apply which matches the factory new car warranty (first 4yr/50k).What's the story with the warranty? Does this void it or is it like everything else where it depends?
Wtfitzvi wroteEvery order I’ve made from Dinan has been fulfilled super quick! That was fast!
