Happy New Year to you all!
BobsM3Coupe wroteThank you so much! I got it out! You are amazing! The audio operating unit (8 buttons) needs to be removed. There are 2 screws behind it. In total, I believe 11 screws hold the instrument panel trim in place.
MADBMWX5MC wroteEvaporatorHeck of a disassembly you got there...what are you trying to fix, if I may ask?

I’ve searched high and low and only thing i can find is a useless YouTube video that doesn’t explain it what so ever.
Many thanks!
Kegworth wroteEver found anything?Hey OP - did you follow a specific guide on removal of the dash? I’m about to dive in on mine after it started peeling bad.

mark1776 wroteLong story short - the condenser sprung a leak and put A/c died. That is located behind the dash of all places and requires removal of dash to replace it. I convinced my local bmw dealership to let me find another dash used (took me 6 months to wait for one on eBay that was good enough quality) and they said they’d swap it in instead of the old one after replacing condenser. It was serendipitous to say the least. Still cost me about $2k out of pocket, but extended warranty covered about $5500 of the repair of the A/C. I was SOL on the dash cause out of factory warranty so couldn’t be happier with how it all played out cause looking at that every day pissed me off.mark1776 Ever found anything?
All that to say, the dealer sent me photos as they removed it and I’m a very very handy guy and have worked on all sort of cars for 20 years but this job is just an absolute shit show and would NOT have wanted to do it.
