I asked and he responded: Deposit applied to purchase or refunded at delivery time.

Sounds like it's not refundable, right?
I would take it like that but would also ask directly if it was refundable should you back out of the deal. Many dealers will refund the deposit until it goes into Production Begins.

The other decision I'm struggling with is the wheels. Should I go with the safe route (20") or the better look but more expensive replacement tire cost (22"). Squared or Staggered?

For me I wouldn't consider the cost difference (that is just part of owning a vehicle) but rather your preference, driving conditions, etc. You are listed as Charlotte so likely won't need an extra set of snow tires but also keep in mind you shouldn't use summer performance tires when it is under 40 degrees as you risk damaging them and losing traction.

Also keep in mind that the ride will be rougher with the 22's than the 20's. If you are getting air suspension then you likely won't notice it much. If you aren't then it may be something to thinking about and what type of ride you prefer.

All 22's are staggered so no decision needed there.

I'm not getting the rear axle air suspensions, but I test-drove an X5 with the 22" and the ride was better than expected. Anyone ever ordered two sets of wheels and tires from the dealer (20" and 22") ?

There is no rear axle air suspension, it is both axles. They will be more than happy to sell you and extra set of wheels and tires.

Thank you! He's the first dealer willing to provide a discount. I think I will custom order a vehicle from them and deliver it to the performance center since it's closer to me than Macon GA. QQ, is the $1500 deposit refundable in case of unforeseen events?
You’ll have to ask him. He is a straightforward man and can be trusted. It’s likely that his discount is based on a sold order so he will incur no “floor plan” costs. It does go both ways in terms of give and take and trust. PCD is a great experience. I’d think they would refund you prior to Status 150 at which time a VIN is issued and no changes can be made. I have 22” wheels with standard suspension and the ride is fine. I live in Hilton Head Island so no need for snows. Personally I do like the 20” wheels that come with the M Sport pkg but opted for the look of the 22’s. The one must have IMO is Driving Assistance Pro.

So the air suspensions is really not needed?

Depends on what type of ride that you want. If you want the most comfortable available with some sportiness when wanted then you get the air suspension.

New to forum. Have a 2015 X3. Purchasing 2025 X5 xdrive40i custom build. Texted dealer the build and gave him offer of 10.5% below MSRP expecting to have to negotiate a little. Cash offer accepted immediately, they had an allocation for next week build (I think) and slotted me in. Received order # within 2 hours. Will get military incentive as well. All feels a little too good to be true.

Anyway, learning a ton by reading here so thank you all and good to meet you.

Hi All,
Just joined the Forum and super excited to say we are RE-Joining the BMW family after a 10 year hiatus and starting our family. Looking for some help/thoughts

Negotiating with a local dealership here in the NYC area and from what I’m reading here, I guess we are right in the middle of current expectations of discounts?

for a new build order 25 x5 xdrive40i. I’ve got the dealer to just above 8% off MSRP at 3.99% APR. Not sure if I can get any further but figured ask the experts here.

Thanks all in advance for your time and guidance and looking forward to contributing to the forum.

Hi all ,
New Joiner looking to buy a first car a 25 X5 Tanzanite in cash in NYC and not seeing much better than 3000-3500 discount on an 79K build which is less than 4%. I reached out to 6-7 nearby dealerships with no real luck. Would love to know where the NYC poster below is getting a 8% discount on MSRP.
Thanks

You may want to expand your search, try BNW of Reading. You also should consider using a broker, contact Dan Next Level Auto Brokers's user avatarNext Level Auto Brokers to see if he can help you.

I took 9% off MSRP. Took delivery 3 days back. I am from Texas and if you want can guide the dealerships where I negotiated (4 of them). So you definitely can try 8-9%

One of them was giving 9% on order too because they didn’t have the color in stock.
Unable to send a DM but would love to get this info!

Hi folks I’m new here and from Texas. I’ve owned Lexus and Audi in the past and this will be my 1st BMW. I haven’t dealt with a car buying experience for the past 6-7 years now. I’m in the market for an X5 xdrive 2025 or 2024. I’m trying to understand how to get the right discount for these models. Also please share any local dealership references to help with discounts.

I know a broker who works out of TX if you want a referral (he covers the whole state).

If you let us know which metro area you are in I can also recommend a dealer and you can try your hand at negotiating directly.

I’m based out of Dallas. Appreciate the references and I haven’t worked at all with brokers in the past so that would be my first as well.

I’ve always haggled my own way out with dealers, but with the 7 yr hibernation I don’t trust to pull it off anymore.

Please do share them, ty!

Hey There. So I couldnt get those discounts in NYC or Long Island either. However much better luck in NJ. I’m not sure if it’s against the forum rules to post dealership info and don’t have access to private messages yet. But I’m happy yo share if I can?

Also FYI- placed my order officially a few hours ago. Appreciate your feedback guys! Can’t wait to get some updates and contribute with you all.

Also- was tomd expect build last week of May or first week of June. Is that realistic in your experiences?

Thanks all
