Polkadotwhale wroteYou can also look online to buy the y adapter separately. Just search for y adapter for rgb to your carI couldn’t find one that I come with hardwire kit. And yes, I have to use an app to change the color. I find that the sliding cover is very tight, I am not sure how I am going to fit and stick the strip so then it is still visible with the cover closed. Any close up picture of your install perhaps? 😁

Polkadotwhale wroteThat’s what the y splitter is for. Rgb plug on one side and bmw 3 pin plug on other side. How did you plug to the footwell? Did you split the footwell cable? To share the power?
Polkadotwhale wroteI had f15 before and I installed this too. It fitsI saw that you installed the light under the rail. Seemed very tight in F15 to insert it there 🤔
blackoutF15 wroteGot it. Will try to find it and see if the light I got can use it. Will install it this weekend! Thanks for the info 😉That’s what the y splitter is for. Rgb plug on one side and bmw 3 pin plug on other side.

Jeepin Jason wroteLook up eBay item no. 396599066625. It's what I purchased and installed on our 2026 X5. It says 11 colors, but all 15 colors work on the 2026 X5.Anyone have a recent link for this for a 2025 X5? Hard to tell on Ali which ones just plug into the factory vs. an app controlled unit. I would rather the factory controlled version.

d_v_o_1 wroteLink?Just as an addition - I noticed on Alibaba today that they now sell a special film to put on the moon roof that has etches to catch the light, similar to skylounge. I believe there were a couple different designs which cost about $180 CDN so what’s that, like $5 USD these days??
d_v_o_1 wroteFrom what I can see, that is not a special film. It's a projector that plugs into the USB port to project an image.Just as an addition - I noticed on Alibaba today that they now sell a special film to put on the moon roof that has etches to catch the light, similar to skylounge.
