@daveschally

Thank you for posting your data and findings. No doubt the 50e has some performance left on the table given the odd detuning from bmw.

Any chance you have logged some 1/4 mile or 60-130 with stock vs the device? The later might be difficult if I’m remembering correctly that they limit these cars to 130 :)

Any exhaust mods to this beast?

Not mine. Just a tuning box. Testing again today

Last week I took my tuning module off and plugged in as stock and tested. In summary, I found a .38 average improvement in the 0-60 times and .47 improvement in 30-80mph times while plugged into the tuning box vs stock. I have no idea what dyno results would be

I've had the bluespark tuning module in my 2025 X5 50e for about a week now. I have it on the default "C" setting and the difference in driving experience is quite stark. The car is much more responsive and acceleration seems to come effortlessly. Engine runs very smoothly overall the car is a pleasure to drive. Honestly I feel like this is how the stock tuning should have been to begin with.

I'll try the higher settings once I have the recommended 200 miles on the C setting.

Agreed. I moved it up to E9 after 200 miles and picked up .50 second in a 30-80 sprint over stock. Remarkable performance gain with just a box. Best I could do 0-60 was 3.66 (1 ft roll) or 4.04 standing. Stock was 4.15 1 ft roll and 4.44 standing and all this using a reliable draggy. Launch control used in all sprints. Oh and btw my best 1/8 mile was 7.87 fwiw. No place near me for safe quarters.

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting one of these boxes, especially since it's undetected. I know the thread is a bit dated now, is there a better alternative in November of 2025? Also I was looking for a transmission timing tune, I wouldn't mind if my car shifted to 2nd and 3rd a at a slightly lower RPM (my personal driving preference)

Excited to try one of these on my 25 X50e!

Just installed mine and I'm very happy with the results. The power comes in quicker, and honestly it feels like how the car should have been stock. I drive usually in regular hybrid mode (often with battery hold on) and it just gets to the shifts quicker, which I appreciate. Great bang for the buck mod, I have about 150 miles on it so far, and it's great., just wanted to second this opinion.

Thanks for the update. This is certainly something I'd like to try, just concerned about potentially voiding the vehicle warranty. Did you install it, or have a local shop do it? Do you plan on removing it when you have service done at the dealership?

Seems like a lot of bang for the buck, curious if it has any impact on the battery, range, etc.

Yes I installed it myself, took about ten minutes just because the sensor clips on the car are a bit finicky. And yes, I have a service scheduled on the 12th I'm simply going to remove the unit. I dunno how they would be able to detect the unit itself, besides maybe some sensor warnings but it's not plugged into the ECU and the ECU stays stock, there is no coding going on. I haven't seen any impact on battery/range or gas, everything is great. I will keep this thread updated if any issues come about

It would be fantastic to compare the before and after results on the dyno in order to see the actual power gain along the power range!

There is a video on youtube on an X50e, 601hp and 856nm is what the results showed

I don't recall if there was an exhaust or not. Just an update I've had it for a while now, things are running great.

Wanted to see how this tune has aged fr you all, would you recomend, which level of tune do you use, have you seen any improvement in fuel improvements, and any issues?

Hey, still on the stock tune I think it’s C. Runs great, no issues at all. I haven’t messed with it since I installed it originally. Zero issues

For those who bought it, does Bluetooth version worth it? I read reviews that you have to select map every time you start the car.

Get any answers on these two questions?

Yes but through PM (private messages). It's awesome. Get it. Unbelievable value.

No, the Bluetooth option sucks. It reverts to stock settings every restart. And you're not constantly fooling with it anyway. You use stock settings unless you've done a downpipe or exhaust. This is per their tech support.

Thanks. I'm sold. Watched the youtube vids the other day. Can't wait.

does that mean they can finally unlock the ecu (femto?) and provide a real ecu tune via software ?
