If replacing, is it a difficult task? Do you just pull it off from outside and jam the new rubber in?

Did you use any specific lubricant? I saw some BMW branded prong posted about but don't have a PN and was just gonna skip that part.
yzhou2004 wroteno, it is not a difficult task. title your sunroof and pull out rubber seal along with rails toward the front. and slide them in by keep rubbing new seals towards the end. it is quite a bit of finger rubbing work but it is doable. I did mine about 15 mins on both side. add some rubber lubricant to the seal may help.
Iridium7777 wroteI think you have the right part number. Thanks for the response. Would you have PN handy? I poked around and found this 54-10-7-493-151, but would like some sanity check because I can't find it in a forum anywhere and this is from a parts catalog.

As for lube, this one should work well on rubber:

I did not apply bond on the rear seal. I just checked out the seal to make sure there is no gas once in a while.
Hope this helps.
Poor quality video but it’s easy.

I cannot find any literature to indicate what they are for - any ideas?
