2020 G05 xDrive40i w/ 3rd row seat

Rear right air suspension hasn’t been able to fill with air. Have replaced the rear right shock and checked air line for leaks but I’m not seeing anything that seems like the cause of this noise. Only hear the hissing from rear right, definitely towards top of the strut, interior isn’t as loud as outside.

ISTA reports all struts holding and being able to fill/bleed minus this rear right strut. Really thought replacing the strut would fix this, then thought the air line may be the issue but seems to me they’re both not?

Only codes in ISTA are shown below, level adjustment error only shows when I try to change the cars level. Have cleared the faults and these return still.

Tried turning on jacking mode and off (hold air suspension toggle 7 seconds) and no dice. Tried some service functions in ISTA where to measure the bottom wheel to fender flare but in the end it ends with error as it couldn’t raise the car properly. Tried resetting iDrive through holding power button for 20 seconds and no dice there unfortunately either.

Did I get a DOA strut?

If your car is from 2020, it still should have warranty?! Why do you want to repair it by yourself?

Dealership didn’t agree it being a warranty fault, says it was damaged on the road. They said only option was to change the strut which I did after they gave the $2k repair estimate

If its road damage, the insurance should be paying for repairs.

Strut was a $370 eBay order, taking non-insurance route is the best option at the moment imo

Returned strut, ordered again from another seller for $300. I was unlucky and both my initial attempts the strut was damaged, this is the second strut that leaked. You can see the two spots where the seal was broken on top.

This latest strut is perfect, did ride height adjustment in ISTA and it’s working again.

I’ll get exact values in the morning but ISTA readings are done in bar and I want to say 2 bar is the minimum until it won’t let you bleed the struts. So minimum like 30 psi? Will correct in morning

Man, how many air suspensions you replaced on your car?

We talked on Youtube and here in another thread about front noise.

Now my rear left shows same noise now. I searched and this post showed up as well.

In your front post, you mentioned 'I'll consider front as DIY'.. did you imply the rear is much harder to replace?

I am reading ISTA but not sure if I have access to the special camber joint bush tool. Did you use special tool or improvised tool to make joint bush tension free when you tighten the bolt? Or you asked Indy to get it done for you.

I'm replying to you in the other thread to consolidate
