Timmer-Bimmer wroteTrue, it usually is in or out of stateFor what its worth, I bought out of state, paid cash, and had a great experience. I think this is very much dealer dependent.
azmiller1976 wroteBeen there done that, that's why I leaseI wish I had cash I totally get that being a smooth transition, but my kids are in school and tapping that resource, LOL! Thanks though I appreciate the read.
azmiller1976 wroteI recently again tried to work a deal with their Finance and Sales Manager, really nice people don't get me wrong. They decided to onlyh work with me this one time because typically they don't work with out of state regardless, but probably because I was going to pay full price, they decided to give me one option and that was to pay with cash from my own personal bank account. Because I am financing, that is not possible. So I worked with Chase to help with this issue, and submitted this letter to the dealership -Interesting enough, thats about where I am headed, thank you for putting that out there makes going to lease that more easy for me to move forward with.
"I am writing to clarify the payment process for my wanting to purchase the 2023/X5 BMW.
While we previously discussed a personal wire transfer via text, there were no set instructions on how the wire is to take place or anything other than the CNB letterhead with their routing number and account number. As you may already know, this vehicle would be financed through a pre-approved Chase Auto Loan coupled with a down payment. To satisfy your requirement for immediate, non-reversible funds, I have coordinated with Chase to send a Direct Funding Wire for the loan amount.
To ensure this meets your "personal identification" and "tax compliance" standards, I can take the following steps:
*Branch Authentication: I can visit a Chase branch in person to have a banker initiate the wire there in Irvine. This ensures my identity is verified and my name is attached to the transaction metadata.
*VIN/Buyer Memo: I would instruct Chase to include my full name and the full VIN of the vehicle in the wire’s reference/memo field.
*Fedwire Verification: This will be sent via Fedwire (not ACH) for same-day clearing. Once initiated, I will provide you with the Federal Reference Number (IMAD/OMAD) so your finance team can track and confirm the funds immediately.
If this process is in compliance with what is acceptable within your policy guide lines, please confirm that your finance department can accept this direct lender wire in lieu of a personal cash wire, as it provides the same level of security and a clear audit trail for the out-of-state sale.
I look forward to finalizing the transport details once the funds clear.I am writing to clarify the payment process for my wanting to purchase the 2023/X5 BMW.

But irvine dealership still refused, and I do respect their decision just doesn't make sense. If they changed their mind I would still work with them if I haven't found what I am looking for, but apparently that isn't going to happen. yeah lease might work, I hear ya, best of luck though.
