Quick question: are dealers giving discounts on MSRP on leases or only on purchases? I'm just starting shopping on an X6 M60i, and I've just realized the quotes I've been given are only showing discounts on the finance option and not the lease, which only includes a rebate.

The discounts should be the same on both since as far as the dealer is concerned it is a sale. I always recommend not even mentioning to the dealer whether you are going to buy or lease until after the dealer discount is finalized. After that you can look at incentives and decide which way to go.

Given you are looking at an X6 the discounts will likely be fairly low.

Thank you!

Do you have a sense of what a reasonable discount is these days? Are there additional loyalty bonuses?

I don't recall seeing any X6 postings lately. Maybe Scott smithf80's user avatarsmithf80 with Insight can chime in and of course you may want to just contact him or one of our other resident brokers to see what they can do for you.

X6 M60's are damn near unobtainable, not literally speaking, but BMW really is not making a lot of them, I wouldn't expect much past 6% on a custom order, maybe if you found one sitting in stock for a while somewhere.

I'm now being offered 10% plus incentives. Does anyone know what the incentives are right now?

These were posted earlier today, I guess they apply to both the X5 and X6 but I'm sure someone can confirm. If you are being offered 10% on and X6 M60i you should jump on it no matter what the incentives/rates are.

See below. 10% is an incredibly good discount on an X6 M60.

None of this is applicable to the X6.

X6 is 5.19% for 60 months
$1k for loyalty if you qualify
Not lockable tho, so this means nothing unless your car arrives this month.

As usual, thanks Scott for the clarification/information.

Would it be a good idea to do a custom built X6 in August/September? Assuming the build takes 2-3mo and it'd arrive by November/December, which seems to be when the best financing deals are active. I think the 0.90% financing offer was applicable on every model last Nov-Dec. Right now its X5 only.

No, not at all. Trying to time finance deals is usually fairly fruitless since they don't generally follow the calendar month but rather market demand/sales and the interest rates.

As far as timing goes, it can be as little as a few weeks or about a month or more for the build it all depends on if the dealer has an allocation. The allocation issued at the beginning of a month (or end of previous) is for the next month's builds. For example, the allocations that are issued a the end of August/beginning of September are for October builds.

Does anyone know what the base MF is on the X6 M60i? Is the .0018 for both the X5 and X6?

Google the Edmonds lease calculator.
