Please excuse the redundant post. I know this information is available on the forum but a quick search did not reveal the answer. I ordered my current X5 only 20 months ago but the process is a bit different today. I used F12 back then to see everything, included the ordered options.

I ordered a new X5 last Sat. Got a production number immediately. I have not received the VIN yet. The mybmw is showing the wrong options and interior color. My SA sent me his backend print out which shows everything correctly. I am assuming it is a glitch in the system and will be resolved once the VIN is assigned.

About how long is it between receiving the production number and the VIN updating in mybmw? Also, in the unlikely event the options are still incorrect when the VIN is issued, how long do I have to change options/get it fixed.

MyBMW is often incorrect and if you have the build sheet and it's correct there's nothing to worry about. Every allocation has a build week and your SA can tell you what it is. Assuming you have a production number call the genius line as they should have it. About 2 wks prior to production you'll go to status 150 and a VIN is issued afterwhich no changes can be made. That means parts have been ordered and are in the queue for the production line which takes about 4 hours. Best of luck.

LDT is correct. I have had this happen many times in the past. I ordered my 2027X6 yesterday and my dealer took an existing order and changed it to my specs. Got the production number in a few minutes and the Color, Interior and all the options were incorrect. It will get corrected before it's built. The build sheet the dealer provided is correct I am at build week 19.

Thanks! That's good to hear. I ordered a Carbon Black with Tartufo and it's showing a Brooklyn Grey with Coffee Sensafin and the wrong options on mine as well. Build sheet is correct, though.
