Hope to take some pics soon, but wanted to see if this was normal or something worth trying to get addressed by BMW.
Thanks
PCar2Bcar wroteMine is pretty much 100% smooth like it is 1 light. If yours is not, take it to the dealer.Quick inquiry: On your x5 Pre LCI: Do any of you have "uneven" lighting in the ambient light strips? Particularly on my car, the portion that is the largest strip from center console all the way to door, i have noticed some areas that look darker or not as "clean" in terms of the light output.

A BMW user wroteSame here. I don't see any difference in brightness or anythingMine is pretty much 100% smooth like it is 1 light. If yours is not, take it to the dealer.
PCar2Bcar wroteYup it’s unfortunate BMW didn’t get ambient lighting down correctly. My 19’ X4 had dark spots, along with many used models I saw. My 22’ X5 has one or two. Meanwhile Mercedes Benz ambient always looks uniform. Having dealer correct the issue is opening a can of worms. I found that the oem interior trims come equipped with the ambient light strip. I saved a few links in the same finish incase it gets worse I will buy and install myself. Here is a pic, hopefully camera captures it. You can see some areas look darker than others
BimmerXdrive wroteThanks for the feedback and sorry you're also having similar issues. I guess that's the junction I'm at as well: Do i address it with BMW, and have things get worse as a result...i feel like anytime you start to mess with interior trim, something else can arise that will annoy you (like rattles, creaks, maybe something not aligned as well etc).Yup it’s unfortunate BMW didn’t get ambient lighting down correctly. PCar2Bcar wroteI know the feeling. It’s tempting to have it resolved especially under CPO. By all means you can atleast feel them out and ask what the order of repair/replace would be. Give you an idea of how long and what exactly they are doing. I would assume it would come down to replacing the trim with led ambient included. When I had my x4 those forums shared members who attempted the dealership to fix ambient and it became more of a mess without it fully fixing the issue. I have 1-2 slightly darker spots on G05. I told myself if it gets much worse I’ll replace it myself with the trim (comes with ambient). I saved the part number. Thanks for the feedback and sorry you're also having similar issues. So in your opinion to address a fix her requires more effort than it is worth? And just live with it for now? I am under CPO so that is why i was tempted, but also just going down a rabbit hole.
