Hi All,

Posting this in case anyone else has had issues with OTA software updates like me.

I got my 2021 xDrive40i a few weeks ago and noticed it was stuck on 11/2021.50. It would consistently tell me that no new software was available. A lot of forum posts suggested that it was too far out of date and needed the dealer to bump it up a version to continue receiving updates.

During my preventative maintenance process I noticed the 12v battery was at 77% via BimmerLink so I replaced it with a new OEM unit and received a notification for a software upgrade 48hrs and about 50 miles of driving later.

The car received version 03/2023.67 - I believe there are newer versions available so I’m thinking this may be a staggered upgrade. I’ll update the thread if it gets updated again.

It seems that stalled OTA updates may be the first indicator that your battery may be on its way out.

Maybe it suggest "newest stable" version?
Did you try auto start stop memory coding? was it working on 2021 version and does not work on 2023?

Nah… I got a new battery in December and I still don’t have the latest version of iDrive 7.

Did you code the new battery? What software version are you on?

I actually didn’t mess with start/stop previously - I just set the car to always start in sport individual. I haven’t had a chance to recode anything yet because car went straight to dealer for warranty work after the upgrade.
