Looks much better now. All the issues you are having is a PIA for the price of this exhaust.
Do you have a picture straight from the back?

I know you've already been thru a lot on this setup but I'd consider getting the outlet pipes painted black so they don't stand out inside the tips... My two cents lol

I think it’s standing out because it’s new and freshly cut. If it still stands out after a month or so of driving I put some flat black paint on them.

Picked up a can of Rust-Oleum Automotive Flat Black High Heat Spray paint this morning and touched up the new pipes so they’ll blend in. I was also able to repair the power cord for the Valve controller.

So everything is good now, finally.

K9-44 for some reason I thought U had an M5, sorry 'bout that, your M60i is the same color as mine. You should have a fuse block in the right rear compartment also. Here is the connection for my actuator. Installer used a fuse adapter and the "blue"(not sure of the amp) fuse that came with the actuator package. Then you won't have to screw with the cig lighter connection, plus it will be fuse protected.

Red wire is from the actuator black goes to ground. hope this helps.

K9-44's user avatarK9-44 , glad that you setup finally worked out and you went through the whole ordeal. Everything came out nicely done. Were you able to splice up the 12V connector and run it straight to the fuse? I might consider that because that connector keeps getting in the way when loading and unloading stuffs in the cargo area. If you did do it, do you have any pictures of it and which fuse to run the add a fuse and amperage. That would be very helpful. TIA

Hey Nick, I did switch over to the fuse tap. It took about 15 minutes because I wanted to solder and heat shrink the wires. I used the above photo for reference on which fuse to use. I won’t be able to take pictures for a few days. I’ll post them as soon as I can.

I used this fuse tap kit from Amazon. There are others available as well.

It’s well worth the time to change it out.

Sorry for the delayed response. I had to unexpectedly go out of town to handle some family matters.

I used a 15 amp fuse. I plugged into the second fuse down which was a 15 amp fuse. Hopefully the picture helps.

So anyone received an Exhaust from Valvetronic recently, is the pipe length/ tip fitment issue resolved?

Overall from those of you who have installed the exhaust, any drone, any regrets?

Just get a Yönristic exhaust. No fitment issues…

Going to be having my Valvetronic + redstar secondary downpipes installed Monday next week so we'll see how's the fitment. I did ask Valvetronic though about the fitment issue and this was their exact quote "Thanks for reaching out, that’s a great question. The thread you’re referencing is actually based on one of our older systems. Since then, we’ve released an updated version with significantly improved fitment, especially regarding the carbon fiber tips.

On the new system you received (SKU: BMW.X5.G05.V8.VSES.BR), the tip positioning has been revised so they sit much more flush with the bumper outlets. We also redesigned the interface to better align with the factory openings, so you won’t see the same “sticking out” issue that was discussed earlier in that forum thread.

Additionally, the updated system now comes with both adapter options included. This allows you to choose between running the OEM outlet style for a more factory look, or switching over to the carbon fiber tips whenever you’d like. So even if you plan to stay OEM for now, you’ll still have the flexibility to install the carbon tips later without any issues."

Let us know how it goes and what the installer's opinion is. Send pictures once it's done.

So valvetronic pretty much lied. Tips could not go on at all from what my installer said and it was a gigantic pain in the ass to install. He had a shit ton of left over parts and everything was mislabeled.

So for anyone else trying to get the exhaust in the future expect it to be pure aids to get it on as the instructions were completely useless. Better to get something else and save your money and the headache. Installer spent over 2 hours trying to get the tips on and it was just wonky as hell.

Clearance as well was a bit weird with indents in the part where there shouldn't be any causing my installer to have to adjust it a bunch just to fit. Also does your valve controller work on first or second press? Mines I have to press like 5 times before it even does anything despite it beeping inside. Outside of that it does sound really good but installation was extremely bad. They supposedly make the instructions better and fitment better but that seems like bs as it got worse.

Really sorry to hear about your experience. I was hoping they had fixed the issues with the exhaust system. I would reach out to them directly. Once I reached out to them directly and bypassed the shop/installer I purchased it from Valvetronic was very helpful and easy to work with. Take lots of pictures to send them. Hopefully they’ll take care of you and get it resolved to your satisfaction.

Forget Valvetronic. Go with Yönristic. 100% fitment with no leftover parts. Sounds great as well!!

Did you ask them specifically about the X5 for the tips? This was the email I got a few weeks back.

Pretty interesting thread.
Anyone here has an idea on where to get a stock exhaust (rear muffler) from the people who were upgrading to aftermarket?
Is there a platform like ebay or something similar here in the US?
Thanks for the help.
