I worked with the folks over at Yönristic through email for a general inquiry on cost, variations, and finally, to get a quote.

Placed my order on March 20th for a stainless steel cat-back system. I was informed that using their valve controller is optional and included at no cost. I opted for their valve controller.

The system arrived April 21st at my exhaust shop of choice. Total install was ~5hrs including running the cabling for the valve controller and the modifications made for fitment. The shop informed me that there was a section in the middle (pictured in the video) where they had to make a cut to shorten the system to land right within the exhaust cutouts on the rear bumber. Other than that, they said that things went pretty smoothly.

Costs:
- Exhaust $2,499
- Install $550 (+$150 for the valve controller install and cable routing)

Experience:

It sounds precisely as per my specification with regard to valve open and close.

Open, it sounds… well, like a turbo-charged v8 should! It has a nice character without just being obnoxious. On the road, there is no drone whatsoever. I believe a result from BMWs insane level of sound deadening in the cabin, and the systems overall design. You get the nice burbles and pops when laying into it as well.

Closed, it sounds muted but with still some of the gutteral essence of the engine coming through. I love that I can make her super quiet or relatively loud and the flick of a switch.

Overall, I’m very satisfied and give my thumbs up to the team at Yönristic for being so easy to work with and producing such a nice system.

Sounds great. Stupid question but does the original exhaust need to be cut? Or is there a flange near the downpipe where the new exhaust connects?

Did you install secondary pipes as well? Can the valve controller be programmed to the garage door opener on the rear view mirror?

Everything from the motor to the catback is still stock. I do not have aftermarket secondaries, this is just with the catback.

I have not tried to program the valve controller to the mirror, but it is on my list of things to do.
