KING | Christian Horner and BYD Discuss Potential Formula 1 Entry:
— Christian Horner has engaged in discussions with BYD vice-president Stella Li as the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer considers entering Formula 1. Speaking to media, Li confirmed:
“We are always in close contact. I like Formula 1 because it's about passion and culture, and people dream of being in Formula 1.”
— BYD is exploring the possibility of establishing a new team rather than acquiring a minority stake in an existing one. Li expressed enthusiasm about the potential F1 project:
“We are discussing the possibility of joining the Formula 1 grid, which would provide the opportunity to put our technology to the test.”
— The company, which has overtaken Tesla as the leading electric car manufacturer, is interested in becoming the 12th team in the sport. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem commented on the potential for new teams:
“If there is a Chinese [bid], and I will speak on behalf of them [FOM] now in front of you, they will agree to that, because it is about sustaining the business.”
— Ben Sulayem emphasized the importance of adding value to the championship:
“For us, the [12th] team has to add value to sustaining the business of Formula 1, and the business of Formula 1 is not about the income, it's about the longevity of the championship itself.”
— Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula One Group, highlighted the need for caution with new team entries:
“We'll only evaluate a bid of great significance because I think we're already at a point with no more room; logistically, we're at the limit.”
— Christian Horner, who left his roles at Red Bull in 2025, is now free to pursue new opportunities in Formula 1. His meetings with Li in Cannes suggest a potential collaboration with BYD.
— Horner's proven track record makes him an attractive prospect for investment, and his involvement with BYD could pave the way for a new team in the sport.

///M Power-Belgium wroteMAX onboard : MAX chasing the Yellow GT3RS
For the blue Cayman there was only one place going , and that was straight into the barrier (!)
MADNESS (!)
See 7:05
M5Rick wroteOnboard cam from the incident of the yellow GT3RS and the blue Cayman..That's the trouble with 24 hour endurance races
MAX was chasing the GT3RS at that moment ...
The Yellow GT3RS had to be given the black flag for that (!) =>

///M Power-Belgium wroteWhat I can make of that is he pushed the Cayman into MAX's path also but we know MAX's tiger cat reflexes. As for the LHD Cayman he could see 3 car on his near mirror but wasn't quick enough to notice he had a double barrel at once on both sides.Onboard cam from the incident of the yellow GT3RS and the blue Cayman..

* Look at car 3's brake lights coming on before the hit, he knew what was going to happen.
