I believe 3 guys tried it with no result. I don't remember the whole detail, but I suggest to read through it. Another one to consider, RaceChip GTS Black. I have a great feedback in F90 M5 platform and F9x M8 platform.

I was introduced to Noelle too. They do advertise 850hp (crank) and offer warranty in case something goes wrong and BMW doesn't cover. Price is $3.7k+.
This is an actual flash. As for piggy back, there's race chip and JB4 - both pretty much the same. Install is extremely simple (two top mounted sensors, then run OBD2 wires thru the firewall into the cabin). I don't see it taking more than 15 min. My F85 X5M was tuned by BM3. I had no complaints other than hating the burble / backfiring tune. I would rather do piggy-back to preserve warranty. Dealer was able to see that the car was flashed 20+ times even though I would always flash back to stock and RE-lock the ECU. So don't believe any of the "you can go back to stock and they won't see it" horse sht. I'm looking for an exhaust more than a tune honestly. The car is super quiet. Even my wife commented on that (F95 X5M CP).

I just leased a 2021 F95 and I have been eyeing the RaceChips tune. Dinan doesn't seem to have anything out yet but I fired off an email to see if and when they will be coming out with a tune for the S63.

It’s not that easy. The OBD2 is locked on all software after 3/2019 hence the reason no one has a flash at home option for anything. BM3 is shut out if they don’t crack the OBD2 lock. The only options are bench flashes where you send them the ECU then you must decline all OTA software upgrades from BMW. Couple that with the insta-void on your drivetrain warranty because of the new ISTA and flashes are in trouble right now.

There is no way they are going to generate 850 chp on a stock vehicle. Even 750 is very optimistic.
BR-Performance are some of the best in the business in the BMW world. On a Euro spec M50i (with OPF sensors and secondary cats), they were able to get 680hp, and 750nM. On my M50i (US spec), they were able to get 690 and 928nM. (Mine is the white one at the bottom of the page). US Spec vehicles only have cats in the DPs. https://www.br-performance.be/en-be/...51-xdrive-m50i The same company, tuned an X5M, and was able to get 700hp and 850nM on a Euro spec X5M. I "think" the extra 10hp over my car is because the X5M has a higher redline: https://www.br-performance.be/en-be/...4-v8-bi-turbo/ These are aggressive tunes, with fuel injectors nearing their max flow capacity. With a US Spec X5M, you might get 710 chp... maybe 715 MAX. Catless downpipes... aftermarket exhaust, intake upgrades? Sure.... definitely more. But in stock form..... I would be very skeptical of anyone claiming 750chp on a stock vehicle. 850chp?? No way.

I went from averaging 17.5 mpg to 18.5 mpg after my tune.

Same here in most cases however this time around I believe the Competition is more than enough for me and our use of it. An exhaust may be all that is needed to make it a bit more aggressive.

The way this thing pulls with its long gears its almost frightening fast on a public road. I really can't see needing more unless you are racing which then you bought the wrong car for it

I feel the same way. I felt that way when i went to their website and started reading. No way they are making 850hp on the stock S63 engine. Ill just wait for Dinan or CarBahn. Im mostly just wanting to remove the top speed limiter, any extra power is a bonus. Did the tune remove your top speed limiter? I beleive on the GO5 its 130mph.

PP-Performance has a chip tune. 690 HP & 870nm (671 ft/lb) Torque. Add the turbo charger upgrade claim 732 HP & 920nm (708 ft/lb). I think it's about $2800 USD for tune only. They are a respected German tuner. They offer a warranty, but don't know what it covers.

Weren't F90s running a little lean from factory? Did we solve for this on a piggyback? I know with flash tunes this isn't an issue.

I haven't gotten past break-in yet, and it's already absurdly fast. I find it hard to imagine wanting more after break-in and getting used to it. Failure of imagination perhaps?
Turbobusa I believe the speed limiter without the M driver's package is 155mph. I don't foresee ever hitting it on public roads. |

Not sure if it's the same Noelle but Noelle in Germany is a very serious tuner, ex Alpina Engineer who was responsible for the famous E34 V10 Bi Turbo!
Noelle in Germany is the way to go just not sure if it is the same company. https://www.noellemotors.de/index.php/en/team-2 Last edited by LOW4LYF; 10-04-2020 at 08:17 PM.. |
