Mac OS Users: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, other
What's your favorite web browser and why?
I've been experimenting with all of them, (I have them all downloaded currently) and am going to attempt a study where I use each for a week and see which I like more. I find myself defaulting back to safari simply because it feels 'cleaner' and IMO smoother. Plus, I really like the password keeper via fingerprint and continuity between my iPhone and Mac. Chrome is nice because there is more customization and I like the layout. Firefox was recommend to me by a buddy who is a software developer. Tried it out, loved it at first, but can't seem to stick with it. Thought I'd make a thread since most of us are working from home for the foreseeable future. |

Safari for most browsing because I like it the most and for cloud tabs. Firefox for Reddit because Apple decided to cripple extensions and the folks who make RES decided not to support Safari any longer. And not looking at torrents. V v rarely Chrome due to RAM usage and never tried anything outside of those three.
Firefox only on my gaming PC. |

Opera here, on both iPhone and office/work Macintoshes. Can run most of the Chrome plugins on the Mac, without a link back to the Google mothership.
For the few pages that Opera has trouble rendering, I open it in Safari...which is configured to always open in private browsing so nothing gets left behind when I close the browser.....

Chrome on all Apple devices..
feels faster, have extensions for everything literally, nice autofill options, great integration with Google accounts, Dino game.. i only like the animation of swiping back and forth on Safari thats all.. until 3-4 years ago Safari always can find something to go wrong or not working properly with some sites.. then i gave up on Safari completely..

I used to use Safari exclusively. And then - problems. It would not load hotmail. I would have to open another browser to read my email. Then it would work. Then not.
Similar problems with a few other sites. Finally gave up. Who needs a browser that won't work? Firefox user now for a month. So far thumbs up. I especially like that it integrates my passwords across all my devices so if I log in once to a site on my primary computer my laptop now has the password. |
