You can always just cancel. Options can't magically disappear with the dealer notifying you and giving you the appropriate price/credit. If they did not do that then you could be getting the HK.

From your other post, your order has not been accepted/scheduled yet (still in order received) so things could still change.

My quoted sales price is with the old Prem Pkg price, but on the MyBMW status is shows the "new" premium package 2. Don't think I'm getting it. Now I just wonder how long the wait is since I don't have a production slot or VIN after 10 days. Going to cancel if production is going to be excessively long. Too many other production troubles could pop up. And the whole HK thing has me less than excited to wait that long.

If you have the Prem Package 2 then you won't be getting it. They will give you credit for it if you end up taking it. Someone posted this morning that their production date was in June, have not seen the details of the build to get an idea of what caused that. Let us know how things turn out.

Details of by X5 40i xDrive build that cleared 2/22 and genius told me June production(today). Granted, when checking with dealer, they predicted sooner... time will tell!

I just noticed that my car that’s already been delivered has “LUXURY SEATING PACKAGE 2” which based on what’s I see in this forum means that something was modified from
the regular “LUXURY SEATING PACKAGE”. Just out of curiosity, anyone has any idea what it might’ve been?

Just noticed the same thing for my X5 build that completed yesterday. What gives? Description looks to be the same.

EDIT: looks like the difference is that package 2 adds the massaging seats, which is what I ordered.

I think dealer just goes with past performance, I would put more credence in the June date. I think I'll be cx my ordee if that's where it's going. Prolly hold over with a well equipped X3 for a couple years. Still has the HK. Go figure.

On the X3 forum there is also talk of the HK being removed as an option in several countries.
However I don't think this is to do with the chip shortages, i think its because of the spate of HK amp failures, late 2020 early 2021 buyers are reporting poor sound from X3 and the G20 forums, loss of bass etc.

My 2021 has been diagnosed with a faulty HK Booster, but have been told amp is on back order and its been booked in for a months time hoping its in stock.

I will have owned my X3 for 2 months by then with no bass.

In the beginning of MY21, the parts for the massage seats were not readily available so the Luxury Seating Package did not include massage. Once the supply returned the Luxury Seating Package 2 was created that included massage and the Luxury Seating Package was EOP 9/20.

This seems like a terrible time to buy the X5 you want. You're pretty much stuck getting the X5 you can find.

Maybe once COVID dies down, the options come back...

Yeah, i went with the executive package. I called the genius line and they confirmed it's still there in the order and i should be getting it. Thanks for the response, it's very reassuring!

Something weird is going on the online configurator. Harmon Kardon option is back but it's a separate option now. If you go with just the convenience package, it's $875 to add the HK to the build but, if you go with premium or executive package, the HK automatically gets added for $0.

Also, looks like Glass Controls package was removed from the executive package. I can't even add it on the M50i. Glass Controls is still included in the Exec package for the X7.

$875 for the HK is the same price as it used to be for the 2019/20 model years when it was a stand along option, Then for 2021 they eliminated the stand alone option and embedded it in the Exec Pkg. So now I guess you are saying its back as a stand alone? Great to see!

It's stand alone now unless it's another glitch or error. It does get automatically selected if you add premium or executive so in a sense it's still included with executive and now premium as well. I'm not sure if premium used to have HK included before the chip shortages.

On the 40i, I only see it as a stand alone option, I don't see it in any of the packages yet like you said, it get auto selected if you add the Premium or Exec Package, strange. So I am expecting yet further changes to the configurator. For the M50i, the HK is still a standard feature

Yes! It doesn't show up in the list, just gets selected.

So something even funner I just noticed... Add M Package and Executive which should auto select the HK option but go ahead and remove the HK and look at interior picture, you get B&O for free.

If true, then the whole thing has jumped the shark now. If you ordered before around 2/20, you could get the HK system. Then you couldn’t, but now you can again? So people who ordered a 40i in a two week period are the only ones who can’t get the HK system?

Whats funny is my build now includes front and rear heated seats. I only ordered front seats.

So latest as of now.
1. HK gone
2. Air suspension gone
3. Rear heated seats added

What will tomorrow or even later today bring???
