X5 G05 jacking mode / air suspension workshop mode

X5 G05 jacking mode / air suspension workshop mode - I know you have to hold the height adjustment switch forward or backward for at least 7 seconds and then release to disabled the air suspension. However I can't get this to work and after many many tries it sometimes works. Led goes off and disables air suspension. Am I missing something like the car has to be running or engine off and PAD mode active or something else?

The engine doesn't need to be on or anything. I usually just press and hold the rocker either direction for 7 seconds then let go. Seems to work every time.

So after trying many times I have figured it out what I was doing wrong .... Issue was I was not using any timer just counting seconds in my head... But it doesn't work if you don't hold button for almost exactly 7 seconds. If you hold it for anything less than 7 seconds or couple of seconds more than 7 seconds it doesn't work.

Haha I've discovered this as well. This quirk is so German.

What happens if you don’t disable the air suspension and jack up the x5 to swap wheels. I tried to disable it but it did not work for me. I swapped the wheels without disabling it I guess, but everything seems to be fine! Did I break something?

I'm not sure what happens but, I did find out that I was disabling the air suspension without knowing it. There's no notification or anything that pops up on the dash. Instead the green light on the level indicator turns off.
