Reliability of 2022-2023 X6MC: Feedback appreciated

Beginning to research a slightly used 2022-2023 (possibly 2024) X6MC as the next car, replacing 2015 F15.

Appreciate all feedback about reliability, what to be aware of.

What was the root cause of the oil leak? Cost of repairs?

they were changing oil and saw it on the underside of the lower body cover it was the oil pan gasket and repaired under warranty. good thing it was because the labour was around 9hrs or so to take the underside body pan off and do the repair.

2023 X6MC, 15K miles, car has been flawless, zero issues. Biggest complaint is the brake dust. Another minor issue I have observed is iDrive is sometimes flaky with driver profiles, ie. when switching between my profile and my wife’s, the interior lighting will remain on her setting. Another sorta issue is finding tires. If you want to run winter tires at stock size, order Pirelli Scorpions early in the season before they run out. BTW I’ve run the Scorpions through last winter in MT and so far this year in northern ID and they are great. Even drove down to Palm Springs last winter and the tires are remarkably good even in warmer temps. Will probably keep car at end of lease assuming reliability keeps up, the alternatives are bleak and the residual is good IMO.

2022. Only issue was a rear parking sensor replaced during an oil change. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. I actually like the 2022 better than the 2025.

I agree - the alternatives to X6MC are both bleak and far and few between.

2022 X5MC. 35,000 miles. Both laser headlights replaced under warranty. Left side headlight ring went out and after replacement the right side looked a little dull to me so they replaced it also. Thise headlights would cost almost 6k a piece out of warranty so I’m glad they took care of it.

BMW has come a long way. This is my my 11th BMW and 4th X5M (E70 x2 and one F85). This F95 has been the most reliable car I’ve had by far. Even the body has stayed tight and rattle free after 3 years of NYC potholes. I just bought out the lease. The car has been great and the 2025’s are way overpriced and not really an upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback. Always appreciated. I also found 2025 models overpriced. The dealer offered me $12K off 2025 X6MC (MSRP $145K). Still - not a good value.

Similar sentiment with the LCI models. It’s not the fact that I can’t swing it, there are just other things I’m looking to do with the money so will wait a bit and reassess later. Was thinking of getting an F95 in the interim of the G90’s LCI around 2027 as I’ve done the F90 for a while and wanted to see what this version of the S68 was like.
