That's odd, my rates never go up, only down. They also base it on the area you live, accident rates, claims etc

Because I pay very less to begin with. For a 2017 Q7 and 2008 Nissan Sentra I pay $550 for 6 months, full coverage $500 deductible with rental car coverage. Couple of renewals later it is $650. Very soon I would be adding G05 to the coverage.

~ $1000/year for maintenance, is it worth?

This thread is about warranty and you are talking about maintenance which is a separate thing. Having said that, you overpaid. For 75K it should cost 2099 + 600 - 100 = 2599. Check the attachment for X5.

There is no standard cost guide. Prices vary widely but I won't pay more than $1200 for it assuming they cover up to 5yrs/50K miles.

You can lock it in with your order.

My experience when added from the dealer is they like to up charge the program cost - one dealer wanted $700 for Ultimate Care + instead of $600 in BTO.

I didn't see another WARRANTY thread active (not extended maintenance), so am curious what others are doing on this and what pricing they are getting?

My dealer offered 6y/75k at ~$5500 and 7y/100k at $6800! Through BMW, not 3rd party. $50 deductible, but covers all as 4y/50k warranty except trim damage/and battery. Personally, I don't see any value in this package.

Those are pretty much the prices I was quoted for the same product. I was able to negotiate down a little. I ended up not going for it (but I was very tempted)
I did get GIECOs warranty though. Has a $250 deductible but covers quite a lot.

BMW coverage is always the most reliable one. What I did when my 4/50 warranty was to expire, I emailed maybe 8-10 dealers around me. I purchased 7/100k warranty for $5,050 when others were quoting even over $7k.

I said that earlier and I will repeat this - there is no sense in buying the extended warranty now. Buy it just before 4/50k expires. You may sell, total, lemon (G05 is a new model ) the car and the money would be lost.

Maintenance, mainly just oil changes, is for 3 years, 36000 miles, not 4 /50000 like it used to be. And not for brakes or other things that used to be covered.

I was asking about extended warranty (aka, service) not maintenance - it's two separate protection plans.

Your base warranty is 4y/50k.

Your base maintenance is 3y/36k, but does not include 'wear items', namely brakes. You can upgrade the base maintenance to Ultimate (3y/36k) for $600, if you think you will need a brake job in that time frame/mileage.

My question was centered on the extended warranty. There's a separate thread for maintenance: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1562954

I was quoted $3300 by my local dealer for 7yr 70K miles warranty through BMW. Retail price is $5950 and apparently this is cost or close to it. I still think it would be smarter to put $3300 in stock or mutual fund and watch it grow. I mentioned I was on Bimmerpost and had tons of reference data points so he cut to chase on price.

I have to agree with you, you're essentially paying $1100 per year. At under 70k miles, you're unlikely to see any major repair

I agree that you prob won't see any major repair issues to power train. I'm more worried about the small stuff. Example. Idrive, reduced driver assistance, seat issues etc ... I have 18k miles and had nothing but idrive and said related issues. I'm waiting till I get to the end of the warranty but I can't imagine getting an AC issue for example and having to pay out of pocket for it once warranty expires. As long as we are compliant with oil changes I feel the power train won't fail. Any opinions?
