Laser lights and Anti dazzle coding
I have a G05 with laser lights. What fields in ProTool have to be modified for the Euro spec? I want the Laserlights and antidazzle to work like they do in Euro. This still correct?: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1852315

There are a few conditions listed in the user manual before the laser lights will come on:
- speed greater than about 38-mph - ambient light low enough (this means that if you are driving where there's lots of street lamps, it will never turn them on) - you actual manually enable the high beams or have the system in Auto There may be some others that I've forgotten. FL is fairly flat in many places, so given that the laser beam is focused, you may or may not always see when they're on...they aren't a broad beam. |

Ben from r33_RGSport coded the Anti dazzle feature on my X5 remotely. It was a quick session and he was quite courteous and helpful. I highly recommend his services.

For about the cost of a remote coding session, you can buy ProTool, and code the anti-dazzle yourself, and not have to pay (reduced from some) fee to have it reactivated after an OTA update, as it's a one-time purchase.

I downloaded the software (you can download it for free) but haven't bought a license, so other than to look at it, I've not used it. That's about as far as I can go, but there are some threads from other people if you search. You'll need an adapter to plug into the OBD-II port. Make sure you get one of the approved ones as they are not all created equal. |

Hello - newbie wanting to get into Esys coding - mainly for all the features that BimmerCode can't do and specifically most interested in coding the anti dazzle feature and variable light feature. Do not have assisted driving package so don't care about that.
I have a windows 10 laptop and a ENET cable. What version of Pro launcher, Esys and esysx do I need and where do I download those from? Also, do I need any special software on my laptop apart from the pro launcher, esys and esysx to be able to use it for coding or just those 2 and I am good to go? Lastly, how easy/difficult is it to do coding using this method (I am quite handy and smart to pick up things quickly if explained properly or guided properly but I am not a software programmer or coder so don't have that train of thinking)? |

So with ProTool, I wouldn't need to do any esys coding? Just use my S10+ with Bimmercode, ENET cable and Ethernet adapter?

Yes, all you need is a compatible Android device that can talk to a proper OBD II adapter. They do not make an iOS version of their software, but, while I haven't tried to connect to my X5 (I haven't bought the license), running under an android shell, it runs on my WIN laptop. I wanted to get an idea of the user interface, and you can download it for free, just can't do anything to your vehicle without the license.

Cars with ID8 have secure coding which requires real time authentication with BMW's servers so the answer would be no currently.

THere are ambient light restrictions on when they will illuminate, so that might be part of the issue. IOW, if you're in an area with street lights, they won't come on. I don't remember if there's a geographic limitation, so it won't come on in cities.

The vast majority of my driving is in my small city. The first time I was out in the country and the lasers activated, it was an AHA moment. Road signs a mile or more away magically appeared where they weren't visible beforehand.
I've been tempted to code the anti-dazzle, but given my use case, I've not been in any big rush. It's nice to know that it can persist between OTA updates...that had held me back some, too. |
