Hi all - I just ordered a 2022 x5 M50 and it just came in - however, I was under the assumption that even if you ordered the trailer hitch, which I did, there would be a “cover” over it when not in use (like our Range Rover sport), BUT, as you all probably already know, it does not. This looks terrible on a white car (which is the color I ordered). Does anyone know of an aftermarket place that makes a cover for this? I have tried a few google searches, but am not able to find anything. Thank you in advance!

Thank you so much - the x5 actually came with that cover - I was actually hoping for a larger piece that essentially hides the entire hitch assembly when not in use…said another way, would like it to look like there is no hitch until I need to actually use the hitch.

Sorry, no such thing exists. Best option would be to retrofit shadowline around exhaust to generally black out the area. I'm guessing you don't have a M Sport or that you have a white car?

Nope, there is no way to hide that. My wife's old LR4 had a cover that hide the hitch mount, but I thought that was a pain. I actually liked the factory hitch and wanted that integrated look as opposed to the stupid bar below the bumper UHaul style install and I did want to mess with installing the stealth hitch.

Unfortunately, there is no cover.
That's the reason why I ordered my G05 X5 without hitch package and installed stealth hitch afterward.

Yeah, i like the clean look too. BMW factory hitch is a good value. I just put a Stealth Hitch on my wife's 2022 Volvo. Its a great hitch for BMW and it keeps the tailgate release active. Completely hidden when not in use.

We are in the same boat, we order the tow hitch but it's is the only area that doesn't flow with the rear of the car. We thought plasticdip black or take it off and let a shop paint gloss black for the x6.

Finding the part number for this is tough.

Do you know if the convenience opening of the tailgate is or can be made operational with the stealth hitch installed? Looks like yDavis actually answered my question, but would still like confirmation.

Awesome… I will let you know. Planning what I need to do, gonna install my Match amp in the next few days. If you weren’t on the other side of the country I’d have you take care the whole shooting match!
